Where is the new Vacation Planner?

Got mine today in Boston, MA....Not that I need it, but what ever happened to the planners w/the nice pics of the resorts?:confused3

new owner here. received planner today. it is the 2010 planner with the 2011 vacation points chart insert and the 2010 vacation planning calendar.

do they reprint the planner every year? or do they use old planners and then add the point chart insert to "update" it?

No invoice for dues.

The vacation planner that we got says "Vacation Planner Reservation Tools 2011 - 2012". It doesn't have any pictures of the resorts nor does it have the floorplans. It has the 2011 and 2012 points together in one chart for each resort.

Just got ours yesterday! I still miss the pages for the looseleaf binder though.

Still none here in Long Beach, CA.

Since we've been talking about dues, I wanted to share a (totally legal) "scam" that we're doing this year to pay the dues in case someone else might benefit from it or if anyone else does crazy things like this.

You see our grocery store give us "points" (redeemable for groceries in a quarterly check) for 1 percent of every dollar spent excluding all those things that are always excluded (milk, tobacco, alcohol...you get the picture). Well this year after Thanksgiving and all of December, they were offering double points (and for two weeks, quadruple points) for every gift card purchased at the store. We thought up ANY place that we could use gift cards (gas stations, fast food, chain restaurants, Christmas gifts from Sears, Target, Amazon, etc) and we bought enough Disney Gift cards to pay what I estimated our annual dues to be. 1% may not be much, but I will get $240 in free groceries this quarter, PLUS when you use your Gold AMEX card at grocery stores you get double AMEX Reward points and right now when you use your Hilton Honors AMEX you get six times the points on grocery store purchases.

I know many people don't bother with rewards points, but between our American Airlines credit cards, Delta Sky Miles cards, HiltonHonors, etc we haven't paid for a flight or a hotel room in about four years, and we fly First Class for free! :woohoo: I was just curious if anyone else had anything as wacky that they did to save money? I can't take the credit for this little scheme, my partner is the one who figured it out, but it sure helps out and every little bit counts in today's economy!

Got ours yesterday...much ado about nothing. As far as I can tell, there is nothing in the planner that I can't find on the website. Waste of paper if you ask me - if they'd give me the option, I'd opt out in the future.

I totally agree, you would think they would be interested in saving the money and being green about it.

I think the opt out option is a good one. I wish the phone book companies would allow us the same. However, you just know there will be people complaining they didn't opt out (wife wants the book, hubby opted out type deal). No matter what they do, they can't make all of the people happy all of the time.

I like the changes to the book - it's out sooner, uses less paper and is still high enough quality to show to friends & family, although I'd still use the old book for it's pics. I love having a DVC book/printout on good quality paper (verses my own home stuff) so I can sit on the train and use it to dream various vacation scenarios.

Ours arrived yesterday (metro Atlanta).

I think they should have saved the money.

We would opt out. :thumbsup2

Still no planner here in so cal.

As far as opting out, I don't mind the idea, but would still end up printing stuff here at home. While I am pretty tech savvy, I still like pen and paper to "run the points" for our vacation options.

And I wonder if it would actually save the members money?
