Where is the internet outlet thingie in the dedicated 2br. at SSR??

I know that the master bedroom had it at AKV Kidani. I remember the living room having it at BCV...but I can't recall SSR. Thanks

Okay thanks. Yeah our 16 year old son has it in his mind that he is going to bring his XBOX to play because "he is not going to the park as much this trip" He is burned out on doing the park thing early in the mornings.

Hmmmmm so that might not work now that it is in the master bedroom. There is NO way he will be in there at night SCREAMING through his mic at his friends like he does here.

He does have a pretty long one but not sure that long. LOL I think he will cave anyway to the parks. Plus ..... I am pretty sure the internet there will not be what he is used to at home with Verizon FIOS.

Your only other choice is to bring a wireless router down there - assuming you have the wireless adapter for your son's Xbox 360.

I did not do a speed test while I was onsite, but I'd be willing to bet that you're right - nowhere near as fast as your Fios connection.

We had a dedicated 2 bdrm. There was internet drop in the master and also the other bdrm. The drop in the other bdrm didn't work. We reported it and someone came the 2nd day and fixed it. My DB put in a few early hours of work before we left for the parks in the bedroom. If you have a lockoff, then there should be one in the master and in the studio.

I'm pretty sure that some dedicateds only have one connection. All lockoffs would have two.

Any one know for sure?

You had an internet connection in the 2nd bedroom at SSR? A dedicated 2 bedroom? Were there 2 ethernet cables in the villa - Master and 2nd bedroom?

Just confirmed with my DB. Family trip August 2008 Congress Park dedicated 2 bedroom on the first floor. I set up the Apple airport in the master bedroom for our macs and my DB's PC couldn't access it without me reconfiguring the airport. I know he worked in the master the first day and when they fixed the drop in the other bedroom, he worked early every morning in his bedroom. There were ethernet cables in both bedroom closets. He said he was "hardwired" in the bedroom next to the table.

That was 2 years ago, maybe they changed it

Disney's guest Internet system uses the same wiring as the phone system. The box that allows this to work is usually hidden somewhere, either on the wall behind something or under a piece of furniture.

At BCV, the living area network jack was located near the dining table. The cable ran behind the couch to the communications interface.

The newer resorts seem to all have network connections in the bedroom at the desk. My guess is that this was done to minimize cabling costs and the maintenance associated with surface-mount boxes.

Yes that is exactly how it worked at BCV.
