Where would you recommend a family of four rent bikes?
the youngest (5) hasn't quite got the hang of riding a two wheeler. I imagine a bike built for two would work, but she is too big for a traditional toddler bike seat attached to the back of a bike.

where would you recommend we NOT rent bikes?

thanks

I have never done this, but I know that you can rent surrey bikes at the Boardwalk and cruise the Epcot hotel area. I know you can also rent bikes at the marina at the Wilderness Lodge and the Poly. I'm not sure about where else.

BoardWalk they have like a six passenger bike like car to rent. Looks fun, We love watching people trying to make it up the slope heading towards the Dolphin. Its hilarious.

We have rented bikes at the Wilderness Lodge. I do recall seeing bikes that would fit your daughter size with training wheels. There are some nice paths around the Lodge as well.

We have rented surrey bikes at the Boardwalk, and had a great time..however your 5 year old would have to sit in the middle with no pedals (this upset my niece) Has to do with safety as their legs aren't long enough to reach the pedals.

At Wilderness Lodge they have bikes of all sizes and trails that go to Ft. Wilderness so you could visit the Petting Zoo or Pony rides.

Pony Rides:
Take a leisurely pony ride with an accompanying adult at the lead. (Ages 2 and older.) $3.00
Petting Farm:
Interact with lovable critters at the petting farm located between Pioneer Hall and the Tri-Circle D Ranch.(free)

I believe CBR also rents surrey bikes (not as many people to negotiate around there).

I have rented bikes in two locations:

Wilderness Lodge has a great selection of bikes. Magicinmyheart described exactly what I did with my DS. We loved it. We went to Fort Wilderness and the petting zoo. Here is something you may not know exists. Right across the street is the stable for all the horses that are used in WDW parades and special events. They are absolutely magnificent and the stable it kept in such pristine condition. When you walk in, you will see all the blue ribbons they have won and pictures of Walt Disney with the horses. He adored his horses. This is truly a hidden gem. The stable master will tell you lots about the draft horses in there. This is certainly alot of fun! If you get hungry, try the trailside buffet , mmmmm.

The other place went have rented was Port Orleans-Riverside. They have a large selection of bikes too. What a fun path all around the resort . The path will take around the river and straight into the French Quarter as well..Its a delightful. We explored all the different courtyards in the mansion section (there is a butterfly garden) and then went all through Alligator Bayou. We loved it!

Both are two different experiences!! Enjoy the magic!:wave2:

We rented at CBR. My daughter was 3 then so she rode on the back of her daddy's bike. However, I do recall there being bikes available with training wheels. It was a great place to ride bikes. A nice paved trail to follow. We plan to do it again this year.
