Our favorite character dinner is Garden Grill in Epcot. It is in a revolving restaurant, and the booths (large) face out to the "windows" which revolve around the land. So when the characters aren't at your table, the little ones have something interesting to look at that changes (slowly). You will see a farm with animals, house, dog, chickens, etc. You will see a prarie with buffalo and a wild fire off in the distance, and many other things.
Also, becuase the booths don't face each other, the Character interaction is very much your table, your kids, your turn. Other kids aren't sitting right next to you trying to get Mickey's attention, and your kids aren't pouting when Mickey is visiting at other tables. I mean you can see them when they are right next to you, but it isn't like a large open dining room that distracts the kids. And the characters came by our table several times during one sitting.
The food is family style, so you can order several things. London Broil, Fried Chicken, I think catfish, Mashed Potatoes, veggies, and there is a good selection for picky kids (I know, I have one!!). And you can have the server bring back as much as you want of any of the items.
The atmosphere is relaxed, and customers are dressed very casually.
The kids got up and danced with Chip and Dale, and sang Who let the dogs out with Pluto, and Mickey is always special!!!
Check it out at the dinner reviews and see what you think.
one small caveat, the lands is getting refurbished now until early March (I think), and it may not be open when you are going. Call the PS number and ask if you are interested in this restaurant. Also, I would make sure it is going to be the "same" or different.....
