Where is the best burger in WDW?

We will be on the basic DDP in May and my DH is basically a meat and potatoes kind of guy. I was thinking we might have to pay for 1 meal OOP since we get 7 TS meals but will be there for 8 days. I thought if we would go out to eat a burger for DH would be best and not as expensive as paying for a steak, we will save the TS credits for that.

I was thinking of either Beaches and Cream or the Plaza. What do you think? Any other ideas for an OOP meal that we could get a burger at?

Can't wait to hear what you guys think.

TIA,

Loralie

Rainforest Cafe
One of the best burgers I've ever had.

I wouldn't recommend using a TS credit on Beaches and Cream. I think using a CS credit for Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's would be just as good, and less of a waste of a dining plan credit.

If you weren't on the dining plan at all, my answer would have been The Fountain at the Dolphin, which doesn't participate in the dining plan. I had a burger there in October that was better than what I've usually gotten elsewhere.

The OP wants to pay OOP for a burger, so the Dolphin Fountain is a viable option.

OP - Check out Briar Rosie's trip report if you want to see a picture of the Dolphin Fountain burger.

IA The Fountain at the Dolphin does have good burgers.

Without doubt, Beaches & Cream has the BEST, tastiest burgers on property. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear Beaches & Cream has good burgers!! On our next trip we will probably not make a dinner ADR on our first night because we don't know exactly what time we will get there, and Beaches & Cream is right across the lake from BWV...of course the Dolphin is also close! But we will probably go with B & C as this would also be an OOP meal for us (saving the DDP credits for the more expensive meals since we will be doing a couple more TS than the plan allots) and we are dying to try the ice cream at B & C!!! Also they don't take ADRs so we wouldn't be able to make one for there anyway.

Beaches and cream burgers are good, but not as good as they had been in the past. They use wheat buns now, and don't smear butter on the buns, and toast them.

I agree if you are going to pay OOP then beaches n cream is a great burger restaurant and their ice cream is :cloud9: however if you are at MK, Pecos Bills burgers and fixin's bar is not to be missed! :thumbsup2

For us it's a tie - we have to have a Sci-Fi and a Beaches and Cream burger every trip. Even with the dining plan we always pay oop for those two restaurants.

Can't comment on OOP vs. dining plan as I've never had the dining plan but LOVE Beaches 'n Cream. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Beaches and Cream by far is the best burger on property. Some would argue they are the same burger as anywhere else. The difference is that B&C first is fresh cooked to order, they are seasoned differently, you have a choice of cheese, and the buns are toasted and made fresh daily at the BW bakery:thumbsup2 As you can tell, I really love their burgers:rotfl:

I know I'll probably get flamed for this but, the burgers at the Disney counter service locations have got to be the worst I've ever tasted. We tried Pecos Bill and Cosmic Rays, and they tasted like meat by-products and you can only put so much on it to make it taste better. I can't believe I would rather have McDonald's than those. I'd like to try Sci-Fi's or Beaches and Cream to give it another shot.
Just my $.02

We think Beaches & Cream burgers are okay, but when we want a fantastic burger we go to Espn Club on the boardwalk. I always order a burger with cheese and sauteed mushrooms and it's cooked perfectly to order.

Our favorite burger at WDW is at the Plaza Restaurant--table service (now, we've never tried Beaches & Cream and hear they are very good). We don't care for the burgers at Pecos Bills or Liberty Inn or Cosmic Rays (although we do like all of the other selections at Cosmic Rays).

Beaches and Cream with a side of onion rings and a vanilla coke and for dessert a No Way Jose!

Tony,
I agree with you 100%!

It's really to bad that Disney has bad (and I'm being nice by using the word "bad") food across the board. Since the main cost in the food service industry is the labor, you would think they could spend a little more on the quality of their ingredients and exponentially improve the taste of their food; but they don't, and they never have.

This concludes my rant (please forgive) ; try these place for a good burger:

Sci Fi Dinner
Le Cellier
Grand Floridian Cafe (Had a burger there years ago and I remember it being great.)
Pecos Bills
