Where is Package Check Service

I am looking at the DL map and the symbol looks like its outside the park gates. Is this true or is the package check inside the park gates?

Unless it has been changed, package pick up is on your right just before the exit gates.

So this whole paackage pick up service thing was confusing to us when we were there last. I was under the impression that when you purchased something you could send it to the package pick up location near the exit gates and pick up all your shopping just before exiting the park.

WRONG

We purchased items first in the shoop inside the castle, some dolls for the niece, some tea for me, and a few odds and ends. I go through the whole process of filling out the paperwork and purchasing everything only to find out I could only pick up my items at the Small World Toy Shop. I was confused soI asked her to explain. She said there were ZONES, so if you purchased in one zone you had to pick up at the designated pick up location for that zone. OK fine Ill go all the way to the back of the park to pick up before I leave. (when we went to pick up this item they had 'misplaced' it and it took 45 min to locate our packages. Not how I want to spend my last hour or so in the park at night.)

Then we purchased some items in Tomorrowland, from the Buzz store, and we could only pick up the items at the Little Green Men store. Now we have 2 location to pick up at before we leave.

And finally we made some purchases on Main Street, these items were to be picked up at the Emporium.

Basically the system did not work for us and we spent more time running around at the end of the night collecting our purchases than necessary. I wont use the service again, I will do like I used to. Spend my last morning/afternoon or evening before I head home shopping and getting everything all at once.

Hope it works better for you guys, because the idea is great, the execution just didn't work for me.

The Disneyland Resort offers a Package Check Service. If you are staying at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, you may have your purchases sent directly to the Hotel. If you are just here for the day or are staying at a non-Disney hotel, you may check your purchases until you leave at:

•Fly 'n' Buy in Disney California Adventure Park
•Newsstand at Disneyland Park
•The Star Trader at Disneyland Park
•Pioneer Mercantile at Disneyland Park

This sound like you have to take your packages to whichever place you choose and check them in yourself.
The Newsstand is the place I mentioned, just inside the entrance.

Yeah, you take your package to the package pick-up location, and you pick it up on your way out of the park. Make sure you check the location hours though, I think everywhere except the Newsstand closes with the park, and you don't want to accidentally leave your packages! The park side of the Newsstand is open for an hour after the park closes. The window to the esplanade closes with the park.

Also, you can only check Disney merchandise. So things you buy from stores inside the parks, or Disney-owned locations in Downtown Disney, like World of Disney and Vault 28. They won't hold things from non-Disney locations, like Build a Bear.

So is the newsstand the same as the package check?
