Where is Everybody?

So, I remember the days when I would go to pin chat and just watch because there were so many people there I coudn't get a word in! And tonight (Thurs, 29th) I only had myself to talk to! Well, eventually Mickey527 showed up, and JamesD, and angie (?). So, the question was asked what has happened to our board and to chat------is pin trading dying, or the "old gang" is going their separate ways? I think we're going our separate ways...........any thoughts?

I've never had the chance to make it to a chat. Last night I was working with a sick boy (have been all week). I have noticed that the board itself seems to be very quiet lately, though. Same seems to happen at 2 other of the pin-related boards I'm on. One, though, seems fine. Has everyone, perhaps, migrated?

You should have been there the week nobody came on for a whole hour but me......I mean that literally, you should have been there. But I too think it has gone....I would have been there last night but I had to take dd to get glasses. The nice thing is there is always a new person so I am meeting new friends but I sure miss the old ones!

I think I just broke out of the habit. I spend more time on Dizpins and go into their chat on and off during the week.
I will try to remember Thursday night Dis Pin Chat!

Hi Ruthie! I used to try to go to chat regularly on thursday nights, but once we installed Zone Alarm on our computer, I had an awful time getting into chat. Plus I have been "scrapbooking my life away" the last two years, & that takes a lot of time. Hope everyone is doing well.

Karin--I'm so sorry I missed you; I was sitting at the computer just had my head turned, and when I "came back" you were gone.

The bigger question is "where have we all gone" and not just in chat, but the board, and how can we get "us" back? Are there just not enough us to keep the momentum going? Has everybody that's really "active" migrated over to Dizpins?

If we all tried really hard to come up with new threads could we revitalize the board?

I miss the days when you had to watch this board <i>all the time</i> because the posts moved so fast.

So what can we do to revitalize it?

I know we're all still collecting pins....or, at least most of us are.

I know we all still want up-to-date pinformation.

And I know we all miss our pinpals.

So what do we do?

I've been mostly a looker lately. With the adoption of Nikolas, my life has been a whirlwind. Starting with a two year old off and running has me spinning. I really miss trading and the friendships. My pins have been in a box for a year. I am not even sure what I have. I am hoping to try to organize them and get back on pinpics and get started again. That is my goal this weekend. Along with scraping a book for Nikolas of his adoption.

Hoping to talk with you all more!!

So, do I Vince!! And I remember you urging me to come to chat at my very first Parkhopper meet; and I remember you and Deb and others looking for me and looking out for me my first few times, because it was so busy in chat, it was easy for a "newbie" to get overwhelmed and lost in the "mob" And, I remember everybody wishing me a happy birthday in a thread, and I remember Nat asking me in chat what I collected and sending me a special pin for my birthday; it's just all really different now, and I don't know if it's because we're all busy, or all just not quite so "enthralled" with our hobby like we were in the beginning...???

But, this past Thursday, Dom was there and Karin and me and Joy and James; but we did have 2 visitors who were not "into" pin chat and when they saw that pin chat was not exactly "hoppin" (and also asked where the moderators were) they suggested turning it into some other chat!! So, I said "whoa; I'm not sure we're ready to give up pin chat", and they offerred that we could have it once a month. It's possible one of them was a moderator on another board. Guess we better be careful, or somebody might take pin chat away from us

Ok, i will try to be there in 2 Thursdays - this Thursday i'll be at WDW.. I was not often there because i could not keep up with you all - my heavens you all type fast!!! I just said to Debbie that i miss all the people i grew accustomed to chatting with on the boards too and might be nice to have a reunion of sorts to see what direction people have taken.
