The news gets "grimmer" every day. They have no idea how many families were camping along some parts of the river. The daughter of one of my good friends and her family had a cabin rented. They were planning on leaving Thursday night but her husband had a headache after work so they decided to wait until Friday morning to go. She's been "thanking the Lord" every day!

This mornings total deceased is 109; now officially the worse flooding disaster in Texas for lives lost. Death count in Hurricane Harvey was not that high. Still 5 campers and 1 counselor missing and Virginia is among that 5.

We're 2-2 1/2 hours from flood area. Flooding is in Hill Country which is in "the heart of Texas"...right in the middle of Texas; we're south and east of the area. Allie played soccer in that area...their conference encompassed Central Texas. We have relatives and friends who've retired there. It's one of the most beautiful areas of Texas and a lot of "locals" make trips there every summer. We're not fans of "tubing" and/or camping so we've never gone on that adventure but the Guadalupe River is the #1 "Tubing River" in Texas. It was announced yesterday there are still between 160-170 people missing.
