Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

I was HOPING she'd "stretch it out" a little too :rotfl: but she was staying up until 2-3 in the morning working on hers! She got 3 large Lego sets for Christmas; the Castle was the smallest. Other 2 pieces are the Eiffel Tower and Avengers Tower. They have 10,000 & 12,000 pieces I think! She said it looks like the Eiffel Tower will be the most challenging! We're going to try and find...or have David or Treavor...build a glass case for the Castle. Any special plans for displaying yours?

I checked your date the other day when the long range weather forecast came out! Looks like you will arrive after the really cold artic front that's predicted at the end of next week-middle of January. Even some talk of SNOW! At one point the projected temperature for Allie's area was low 20's but they've backed off that forecast a little. That would be a bummer if y'all left the cold/snow of Canada only to go to cold/snow/cold rain in Florida!

Good day yesterday after quiet New Year's Eve. David was in bed by 11 but I was busy preparing for New Year's Day lunch so still up at the stoke of midnight. Family lunch yesterday and Sara, Allie and Katie are currently in the air flying to Orlando. They have reservations in one of the new Tower rooms at the Polynesian! Excited to hear about them. Their niece/cousin is with them and she and Katie have plans to "do everything" :rotfl:, staying in the parks from rope drop to closing :rolleyes1! Not sure if that's going to happen but they ARE 18 and 16 and have more energy than all of us put together.:rotfl2: Sara and Allie have no plans at all except for dining reservations. Plan on a "resort vacation" since she had to pay a fortune to get those rooms! They're certainly priced "above my pay scale". 😂 Hope you get decent rooms at Kidani. That's the resort I've vowed to never return to. Our room was SOOOOO far from the elevators (seemed like we were walking from Main Street to Big Thunder Mountain 🤣 ) and got stuck in the elevator with a lady throwing a "verbal temper tantrum" about the bus service at the Lodge. She scared me so bad I actually punched the button for the next floor to get away from her. 😳 :tink:

as long as it is not raining, we will be fine haha and i will still be in shorts like the last trip

No Sir, not from Small World. :tink:

Is it a ride attraction?

I loved AKL but we were at the very end of the horseshoe on the third or fourth floor and it was a super long walk.

We were in bed before midnight too. I was awake and watched the ball drop. Could not fall asleep. I think I finally fell asleep around 2.

Did you watch the Texas game? That was a close one.

Nick and Molly are going to Florida in January for a week 🙄

But the rainy days mean shorter wait lines for attractions! 😂 I'm sure by the time you get there it will be "shorts weather" even if the temps ARE in the 20's mid-month! Never takes long to warm up; we're looking at mid-70's by Saturday again and then Sunday night mid-20's! :faint::tink:

We were there on Sara's DVC points too. Kidani is strictly DVC. Ours was a last minute trip that year during Spring Break so pretty sure she got the "leftovers" in room selection. Just hope you don't run into any "crazy ladies" like I did! 🤣 She was SCARY  and more than a little "unhinged"! :rolleyes1:tink:

We've never stayed at AKL but just visiting I didn't like it at all. Lobby area SO dark! I'm sure the rooms are about like the Kidani's and I'm not a fan of the animal prints and dark furniture either. WL is about as "rustic" as I like to get. I'm still surprised I liked Bay Lake Towers as much as I did; THAT was a total surprise but it was SO light and cheery. NOW I'm perfectly happy with the rooms at the POP. :goodvibes MAY splurge one more time and stay at WL but I just can't justify paying THAT much nightly for a room when we can get a perfectly comfortable bed at the POP for $180! 😉 Sara took me on a tour of new Poly Towers today when they got there. She FaceTimed me when they got settled in. VERY nice; from their balcony they overlook the pool and cute children's pool play area. View looks toward CR and SM. There are nice lounges (2 on their floor...the 6th) and one looks out back with a view of the monorail tracks and the golf course. Beautiful spot to watch the sunset too. I'll post some lobby area pictures later.

I didn't have any problems falling asleep NYE; was SO tired after the full day we had between soccer and meal preparation for NYDay! No, didn't watch the Texas game but David said it WAS a good one. Texas is the college team I DESPISE the most; I'll even pull for Notre Dame (2nd most despised team :rotfl2:) if they're playing Texas! It was on while we ate lunch yesterday but I turned it off as soon as the girls left and told David if he wanted to watch he had to use the other TV. :rotfl2:He left at half-time to cut firewood and listened on the radio; told me about the end when he got home.

Well it might be Nick and Molly that get hit with the cold Florida temps instead of Jeff! :rotfl: According to the weather forecasts the Artic Cold arrives in central Florida around mid-January. Allie figures she'll just be getting back when the temperatures drop. Hope you can go back soon; you need to plan on a Spring Break trip. Flower and Garden Festival is SO pretty and the food booths are very interesting and fun! :tink:

i have seen so many videos and reviews on the new Tower and i sooo want to stay there

Agree but pretty sure it's beyond my "pay grade"! :rotfl: Fixed retirement income pretty much takes care of that dream. Sara took me on a video tour and it IS nice; one of the reasons they haven't made any park plans for this trip other than dining reservations.. Our niece and her daughter and grandchildren are there also and they're meeting them in the MK for a little fun together but other than that they'll be enjoying the Tower. Keep saving Jeff; you're young enough to live that dream of staying there! Just may take a few years to get the funds. :goodvibes When our girls were little and we were on a TIGHT family budget, it would take us 3-4 years to save for a trip that included a stay at the Poly...and that was quite a few years ago when Poly rooms were UNDER $200 a night!:tink:

i am pretty sure after this trip emily want to buy DVC so one day we may be able to stay there

we have been looking at contracts for 200 points so if we go every other year we will have enough for a 1 bedroom or 2 at certain resorts
