We've had a busy day and finally finished with preparations for New Year's Day lunch later. Best part of the day...the Annual Soccer Alumni game at the Pasture of Pain. SO good seeing these girls again and even better watching them have fun with the current team. This young lady battled with Allie all day. :rotfl: She's part of the last group of girls Treavor coached for Red Storm and Allie would always assist when she was available. She's now a senior!

I love watching alumni games. I wish they had softball ones. Nick played in the hockey and lacrosse games. He doesn’t play in the lacrosse anymore. He still plays in the hockey games but he’s not sure if he’s playing this year. Depends on how many goalies they have. He’s been lucky every year there’s just been him and one other goalie.

It was so much fun watching them interact with the current team! Loved seeing those girls on the field again. Hope he gets to continue! Hockey is so much fun for him...and he needs the stress relief! :rotfl2: Sure does keep Allie in shape and she had a LOT more stamina than she did in last years game! A lot of that was from her 2024 New Year's Resolution. She has a LOT more will power than I do! Sara posted this yesterday on Facebook :faint:; she forgot to add that she even ran her mile IN A HURRICANE! :rotfl: During Hurricane Milton she ran the halls of the apartment complex so she wouldn't miss a day. :goodvibes The half-marathon she's doing in February is a Disney World one!

Allie's new years resolution for 2024 was to run a mile a day and she successfully completed that resolution today!! These are all the cities/countries she ran in this year sometimes running at 5am or 10pm just to get her mile in!! Bellville, Brownwood, Dallas, Port Aransas, Bastrop, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Disneyworld, Melbourne, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Denver, Las Vegas, Liverpool and London England, Geneva and Zurich Switzerland, Paris France, Disneyland Paris, Edinburgh Scotland, and Manchester England. Up next half marathon in February!! :tink:

Oh that’s a lot of places she’s gotten her mile in. I bet she’ll have fun doing the Disney one. Nick still plays hockey. He plays in a league on two different teams. He plays at least two games a week.

Good for him! I talked to one of Allie's former high school coaches on New Year's Eve at the grocery store. She asked how Allie's knee was doing and when I told her...must be okay...she's running a mile a day AND plays in 3 different soccer league's...she laughed and said, "I'm not a bit surprised". She's always happy when her former students actually stick with their chosen sport after they leave high school (and don't become inactive and gain weight!) so Nick would get a "passing grade" :rotfl2: from her! Plus...he stays in touch with friends and makes new ones! :goodvibes

She's had the Disney half-marathon on her "radar" for over a year. She's trying to get her "mile time" lower so she can get a good placement in the race. It's been tough but she's slowly gaining on it! :tink:

I was HOPING she'd "stretch it out" a little too :rotfl: but she was staying up until 2-3 in the morning working on hers! She got 3 large Lego sets for Christmas; the Castle was the smallest. Other 2 pieces are the Eiffel Tower and Avengers Tower. They have 10,000 & 12,000 pieces I think! She said it looks like the Eiffel Tower will be the most challenging! We're going to try and find...or have David or Treavor...build a glass case for the Castle. Any special plans for displaying yours?

I checked your date the other day when the long range weather forecast came out! Looks like you will arrive after the really cold artic front that's predicted at the end of next week-middle of January. Even some talk of SNOW! At one point the projected temperature for Allie's area was low 20's but they've backed off that forecast a little. That would be a bummer if y'all left the cold/snow of Canada only to go to cold/snow/cold rain in Florida!

Good day yesterday after quiet New Year's Eve. David was in bed by 11 but I was busy preparing for New Year's Day lunch so still up at the stoke of midnight. Family lunch yesterday and Sara, Allie and Katie are currently in the air flying to Orlando. They have reservations in one of the new Tower rooms at the Polynesian! Excited to hear about them. Their niece/cousin is with them and she and Katie have plans to "do everything" :rotfl:, staying in the parks from rope drop to closing :rolleyes1! Not sure if that's going to happen but they ARE 18 and 16 and have more energy than all of us put together.:rotfl2: Sara and Allie have no plans at all except for dining reservations. Plan on a "resort vacation" since she had to pay a fortune to get those rooms! They're certainly priced "above my pay scale". 😂 Hope you get decent rooms at Kidani. That's the resort I've vowed to never return to. Our room was SOOOOO far from the elevators (seemed like we were walking from Main Street to Big Thunder Mountain 🤣 ) and got stuck in the elevator with a lady throwing a "verbal temper tantrum" about the bus service at the Lodge. She scared me so bad I actually punched the button for the next floor to get away from her. 😳 :tink:
