It's 11:30 PM and I STILL haven't unpacked the dishwasher from last night! Allie needed more soup, so went to grocery store after dinner, got squash and started cooking. Amanda and Bryan are both coughing and worried they won't be able to get on their flight tomorrow morning ; AND...got a message about an hour ago from David's sister and her husband in Colorado. They've evacuated due to the horrific wildfire! They weren't required to yet but were told to pack up and be ready to go on a moments notice so they packed and left. What a crazy day!

Hope David's sister's house is okay. Poor Allie what a nice Mimi you are to make her more soup. I feel like I've had a cold the whole month of December. It's gone from my nose to my chest. Still a little stuffy but started coughing the past few days. Today I coughed a lot. Hope it goes away before Monday. If I cough a lot at work they'll send me home and make me get tested.

The worse part of my cough lasted about week....and it was bad...uncontrollable! Amanda said Coke helped calm hers! The bubbles made it feel better; thought that was strange! I've stayed stuffy and Tuesday night my chest hurt a lot. Used Vick's overnight and it was better on Wednesday. It's crazy how this is lasting so long! We've got self-tests here at home and David found a couple more for Sara today. They're almost impossible to find! She can test herself at her school (they have a stash of kits the government sent them) but needs the others for family. I'll bet your school would require a 3 day test though, wouldn't they? Do they pay you if you have to stay home those 3 days waiting for results?

I'm a sucker when it comes to Allie and Katie but when they request food I always try to make it for them. Would rather she be eating homemade soup instead of the canned stuff and she just loves the chicken squash soup. Now Katie would rather eat Campbell's out of the can! Besides...chicken soup is good for everything! She hasn't lost her taste yet; don't think there's a lot of that with this new "variety".

Little worried about Lois and Tom after watching the news tonight! David didn't even KNOW there was a wildfire! I just saw a report on the Weather Channel about 3:30 this afternoon and didn't even know it was close to them! They live in a retirement community in LaFayette, Colorado. Weather people said those winds would hit us Sunday morning; not quite as strong but they're part of the colder air from Canada and the Jet Stream shifting. Between the Saturday heat index and the wind chill, we'll have a 60 degree temperature drop from Sunday night to Monday morning! No wonder we're all sick!

Allie feeling a little better this morning! Temperature back to normal and she's ready to eat some more soup! Amanda and Bryan are on the plane right at the Texas border ...should be landing in a little over an hour and fire is out close to Lois ad Tom. Still smoldering but snow should take care of that by this afternoon.

So thankful Allie is doing well; BFF STILL has a temperature and her daughter is really sick today. Allie's been so lucky but then Sara has been making her take a ton of vitamins since her operation; that may have something to do with it! Amanda's dogs were SO HAPPY to see them...tails wouldn't stop wagging. She can't wait to sleep in her own bed tonight! A little bummed....for the first time in 44 years we won't all be having lunch together on New Year's Day but need to keep away from one another for the time being. We've moved "Christmas" to January 7th; hopefully all will be well by then!
