Park, resort or other?

This is from a park. :tink:

There are a LOT of parents of top students more than a little ticked off! They can't do "first come, first served" because of the regulations put forth allowing "mass public gatherings"; they'll have to be "seating in intervals" to avoid the "everyone at the front gate at one time" thing. BUT....why shouldn't the top 10% of the class get a "reward" for BEING the "top 10 of the class"? Those students have not only kept their grades up but have served on Student Council, National Honor Society, Math Olympics, etc. so they should get a tiny "perk" for being the class leaders. :confused3 It's very frustrating and, like I said, I sure am glad I'm not the high school principal right now! :rotfl2: I know they're trying to be fair but they're already asking ALL of the students to leave out people they'd like to have watch them graduate with only being allowed to have 4 tickets. Personally, I don't understand why they didn't wait and have a July graduation; hopefully by that time restrictions would be lifted a little more. In fact, the senior students are wishing the same thing. :tink:

I agree you would think the top students could get the better seating. It stinks that each student only gets 4 tickets. :(Some high schools in our area are scheduling end of July or beginning of August for graduation.

Originally that's what the Senior Leadership group told administration; they wanted a graduation ceremony in either May, June, July or the first week in August ONLY if each could have 6 tickets. If that couldn't be accomplished they were all okay with a virtual ceremony. :confused3 They're doing all the spring awards banquets virtual so AT LEAST we can all be together for the "presentation". I'll cook dinner and we'll "tune in" for the "banquet" so even Amanda and Bryan can "attend". I told Allie today to just "flip the coin"; the "winner" would get to attend graduation. The "loser" would either get a fishing trip (David) or a Disney trip (me) :rotfl2:! I'm just upset that she's upset...and she's not the only senior that's upset. Sara had numerous phone calls last night from other senior parents...some even out of town...about the "lottery". Of course I want to be there but if I have to watch on the computer I'll watch on the computer...(and make a huge pitcher of Mudslides to enjoy while I'm sitting in my comfortable chair in the air conditioning :rotfl:... and my BFF has already promised she'd be sitting right next to me)! BUT...parents and guests of the top students SHOULD get to pick where they want to sit! At least we don't have the problem neighboring Brenham does. They have 304 graduates (we have like 165, 167 something like that)...seating on the football field with the required "6' separation" gives them space for 300 graduates! Where are they going to put the other 4 graduates? :tink:

It's been raining :yay: since about 4 this evening! Praise the Lord, we needed some but some areas are looking like this! 😱

This is what was in David's "rear view mirror" this afternoon as he headed home from work! So far we've had the beautiful, steady rain that's perfect for the lawns and gardens!:tink:

...and look at this! Hurricane season starts June 1 and Florida is ALREADY watching something....

...and Diane is still wearing sweaters and seeing SNOW!:tink:

The sky looks scary.:scared:
Yup put the sweaters away and had to take them back out again. Flannel sheets still on the bed and heat is still on. They turned the heat off at the school and it was so cold in there today.

Scary sky but wonderful rain! A lot of lightening to our west and gusty winds but much needed rain! I'll bet it was cold at school...noticed the low temperatures on the Weather Channel. The girls said the pool was a little cool today but they all 4 stayed in about 45 minutes before the rain threatened. Hope you get your spring SOON! :tink:
