If I was there I would go point at it.

Parents house was shuttered a couple of days ago. Did mine tonight. Then stopped at friends placed and put up her shutters. She did her parents house. They had the accordion type shutters. Brother did his the other day too.

Now it feels like we are in Disney. Hurry up and wait for storm to get here

Well take care of that and GET THERE! I have a friend who started his vacation in The Keys before a few days in Miami. He was scheduled to come home Friday but changed his departure airport to Orlando for tomorrow. Thank goodness he decided to drive to Orlando today...it took him 5 HOURS! Make your Disney decision soon...you know how I feel ::yes::...get you back side to Epcot and point this out! ::yes:: :tink:

I know Ed and Terri don't want to hear this since storm clouds should be moving in soon but after suffering through days and days of clouds and rain our refreshing cool front has arrived. A beautiful, fall feeling day and tonight is absolutely gorgeous! Full moon, slight cool north breeze and current temperature of 69 :cloud9:. If it stays like this for the Friday night football game I might actually need a light jacket! :cloud9: :tink:

ED...just saw this on the Irma thread...

  1. From meteorologist Jason Dunning, WBBH-NBC Florida:

It's very important when seeing updates on Hurricane Irma to remember that the storm isn't just a point on a map. This is a massive storm, close to being the size of Florida if you measure the distance of its cloud shield from one end to the other. The tropical storm force wind field is 320 miles wide. The hurricane wind field is 120 miles wide. There's a high chance most all of Florida will be impacted in some way based on the storm's expected movement along the peninsula. If you live in South Florida and live close to the coast, the sooner you leave the better. There will likely be simultaneous evacuations on both coasts, making northbound traffic a nightmare.

Whatever people decide to do, first priority is to stay safe.
How long before you leave??? :rotfl: :tink:

That looks like a troll; maybe from the FROZEN attraction ride? :tink:

It looks like Bruce from The Seas with Nemo and Friends.

Good eye Karolyn, this is from the Frozen ride :thumbsup2: But it's not a troll. Who is it and which scene?

I know the waiting is horrible! Like when we have our car packed and ready to evacuate. :scared:

At least you are all ready and everyone has shutters. I have a friend who lives in Jupiter, FL but she has been up here visiting her daughter all summer. She called her friend and had her go over and put her patio furniture inside and close her shutters. I'm glad she is up here!

I saw a couple from VA who drove down and got their 93 year old mother and her friend and drove them out of there.

It would be cool to be at DW. But they must close the parks and you'd be hunkered down in your room or in the hotel's bar :goodvibes:

No shutters for us . During Charley we boarded up our windows in the one room we staying in, but all the others were fine. Still debating if we are going to bother this time, will most likely wait one more day to see what she is going to do, nothing like waiting till the last minute.:scared:

Where do you live again? Hope you have the boards in case you want them. Sounds like this storm is going to be worse than any previous storm  :duck:

I was the same for any CAT 1 & 2's. 3 and up I board up. This year I started a little early since there were more houses to cover up. We are now under a hurricane watch.

Disney has their own power and water systems. So it is really not a bad place to be at.

We live about 35 minutes SW of WDW, right next to Legoland in Winter Haven. We are about dead center of the state from each coast. The track update at 11:00 am had Irma moved slightly more to the East which is good, just hoping she continues that way. Yes, I am pretty sure we still have the plywood somewhere.

The ONE direct hit from a hurricane I've been in we'd boarded our windows (believe it or not, we had MAJOR winds here...wind meter in neighboring Brenham airport BROKE at 120 mph) and were really, REALLY glad we did. I remember the tree limbs and debris slamming against those windows and it was LOUD! At one point we had to brace the door from the inside, the wind kept pushing it open. Pretty scary! And yes, Ed, the more you have to do the earlier you have to start! You may not be "running" but you're getting a good workout! :rotfl: I'd STILL go to DW if I were you! :tink:

They just boarded up the windows at my office, feel like I am working in a cave, not liking not being able to see outside :sad2:, and I still have to work tomorrow.

I will be running sometime Sunday. It may look like this. Haha

Shop? One of the gift shops at the entry to WS?

Is the Port of Entry shop at the back of the park, the one from the resorts?

i-9ZgS6xr-Th.jpg

:thumbsup2 Yes...one of the International Gateway shops...not sure if it's Port of Entry or World Traders. Now...the real "mystery"...what does this stained glass window "announce" or "advertise" ... not exactly sure. I THOUGHT Ed may have had the answer last night when he said he would point to it but I guess he just meant he'd look for it. :tink:
