Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

It might not be that much fun to be stuck at Epcot. If it's raining and you get stuck in a small shop. Maybe if you were in the Land or the Seas. I'm glad we don't have hurricanes up here!

Where does Ed live? I just heard that Palm Beach and areas along the coast are under mandatory evacuation. :duck:

The island of Palm Beach is not far from me at all. 10 miles maybe. I am not in an evacuation zone. The 11pm advisory really hasn't changed much. Tomorrow evening/night is when it starts to hit the fan. It strongly appears the eye wall or the center of the storm itself will pay a visit. It is a quiet time to get outside for a few minutes or so. See what damage there and make any repairs you can. The back inside quick before the back side of the eye.wall returns. The winds will go from zero to 130 in less than a minute

Ed's in West Palm Beach...in the hurricane watch area...north of Miami but not as far as Cocoa Beach. Same area that Rush Limbaugh lives and broadcasts his show from :goodvibes. He has guest hosts set up for Thursday & Friday, expecting to loose utility services. South Florida is, as Ed says, "flat as a pancake" and I would suspect the entire area is under mandatory evacuation. I returned home around 5:30 and haven't had a chance to listen to much news; entire family was HUNGRY and all on different eating "shifts"...2 more to get fed and then I'll have a chance to catch up on the news. One does NOT want to be close to the beach during a Cat 4 hurricane...catastrophic damage possible. Can't remember if Hurricane Ike was a 3 or 4 but a large part of Houston was without electricity for almost a week. I remember returning from DW and driving through a DARK Houston when we left the airport. Very freaky  and the damage, especially in Galveston, was unbelievable. :sad2: We all need to send "safe thoughts" to him! I can still "hear" the winds of Hurricane Carla when I was 10 years old...it's a sound you never forget. :tink:

2004 we had two category 3 storms take the same track and pass right overhead 1 month apart. Jeannie and Francis. I was without power for 2 weeks both times. What made it bearable was that I had a gas hot water heater and a gas stove. I could take a warm shower and make a warm meal every night.

Also if there are power outages and the few places that have power and are open won't be able to take a debit/credit card. Cash only. After learning that the hard way I always have cash on hand.

ME TOO! That's not a lesson anyone wants to learn the hard way! :rotfl: :tink:

And that is not really the bad part of the storm. Not even close to it yet are they. Give them to mid day Friday.

A real adventure ahead of them! :goodvibes Just saw on the website they've cancelled the Halloween Party for Thursday night. :( Weather channel just said hurricane force winds Friday in Orlando. Looking more and more like a couple of "wash out" days in the Magic Kingdom. :tink:

::yes:: My Dad and Uncle learned THAT the hard way during Hurricane Carla. ::yes:: They'd gone out to fix Grandpa's barn door and we weren't sure if they'd make it back in or not! :scared: They had to crawl on their stomachs the entire way back to the house...:tink:

:yay: Hooray for gas stove and water heater! :yay: Do you have a generator for your refrigerator and freezer? That's a LONG time to be without power! :tink:

First thought would have been Test Track but you said not an attraction. Would the misting place near Test Track count as near to attraction?

Can't really sleep when taking the pain med. Fall asleep and wake up every hour. Ribs don't hurt while on med.

Who needs sleep...at least you ribs don't hurt! :rotfl: Seriously, that sucks...you need rest tonight...may be a L-O-N-G 24 hours ahead of you! DH had a few of those nights after his knee surgery...then he'd sleep all day. What better way to spend your time though...on WITW! :goodvibes Can I give you my log in and password for My Disney Experience...I need to get up at 6 AM for Fastpasses...then I could sleep and YOU could do it for me! :lmao:

...and you are THINKING! That's exactly what/where my crop is...it's the car in the "cool mist" station outside of Test Track! :jumping1:

Done all the prep on mine and mom and dad's house. This evening we will see what Mathew brings. Western eye wall will roll overhead sometime during the night. Wont be able to take good pics.

Stay safe. I have relatives in Riviera Beach and Jupiter, haven't heard anything on them yet.

Hi Annie. I know I have missed some time here because of life in general. Did I miss where you moved to Florida?

Oh, no!! I still live in NC. During the first part of this week they were calling for it to hit us, but it's been moving further east as it gets close to us

I'm glad you are not in an evacuation zone. It's such a stressful hassle to evacuate! Don't go outside any further than you can get back inside in less than a min!

2 weeks! I've never been without power that long. A few days. But I have a wood stove so I can stay warm and warm up water for coffee. Of course I have to melt snow to get water. No water for me without power.

Do they ever close the parks? Seems like Friday might be a good time to do it.

Did I miss something? Why are you on pain meds? What's the matter with your ribs?

Might as well stay inside where it's safe then!

I have a friend in Jupiter. She is safe in her condo. She has hurricane blinds over the glass doors. The bathtub is full of emergency water. You gotta be tough to live in Florida! I'm glad I live up here!

just read on the Dis facebook page that Disney is closing tonight at 5pm and is going to be closed all day tomorrow

"BREAKING -All Walt Disney World parks will close at 5:00 pm this evening and will be closed tomorrow (Friday, October 7th) due to Hurricane Matthew. Stay tuned for further updates."

Thanks Jeff...read last night there was talk of closing at 6 today so they upped it an hour. On the "bright" side, for me anyway, got ALL of our requested Fastpasses for December this morning. :yay: Guess future guests on the east coast had other things to worry about and couldn't start their Fastpass process :goodvibes; all original requested times except FROZEN...had to change that time from morning to afternoon and Splash Mountain had NONE available but that was one I'm still deciding if we'll do or not...depends on the weather...don't want to be WET if it's COLD. :tink:
