HAPPY FRIDAY! Last Brahmadora competition for KB tomorrow so tears will be shed but at least the weather will be beautiful.

...for the Brahmadoras, yes. Then comes Spring Show and Banquet and her Brahmadora days are done. That's a tough one...I soooo love seeing her perform in that uniform. At least Center Stage competition lasts longer with National's in June and we DO have a weekend trip to San Antonio planned the last part of April for competition there but I'll REALLY miss the Brahmadoras....

Team didn't have as good a day as they did at the other competition but didn't exactly do bad! Came home with plenty "hardware" plus Katie and Lilly (9/10 grade classification) both came in 2nd for their solos so pretty good day!

Did you find any crops for us? I need to set aside sometime to get a "stash" in my game file again! Here's one I just cropped for y'all...

Full day starting at 6:30 AM yesterday which is really early for me! Left early so we could stop and get built in fixtures for our new shower and then to the competition for solos and duets in the morning. Glare from skylights made picture taking "fun" but did salvage a few. Got a decent picture of the "pretty" costume and that solo is so graceful and pretty. Anxious to hear her scores on it. Again, the reaction of the girls in the stands during her top solo says a lot. She was expecting 3rd/4th place again after seeing some of the solos...the tall young man was AWESOME and, honestly, we were all expecting him to take 1st place. We were all sitting together in the gym when awards were announced and when the Judge's announced "5th place...4th place...3rd place..." and both girls were still standing (fellow Dora Lily was in 9th/10th grade group) the excitement was "over the top"! Even ALLIE was excited! Our 2 girls were the only soloists in the finals from "small schools"; up against 8 others from 6A schools (enrollment of 2,225 students or more...BHS has an enrollment of 680 students). So happy for those girls...and the duet! That number is "Eve and the Snake" and "the snake" is the Dora Director's 5th grade daughter!

...and then she finishes off the "forbidden apple" when we leave for lunch...

One of my favorite solos was from one of our freshman...she dedicated her number to her puppy who had passed away last year ...

A few of my favorite photos of the day...especially with the dance instructors...they have such a close relationship. Not sure who will miss who the most. I've GOT to find out what Katie was telling Allie and a TOTAL surprise when Katie literally "ran into" Ayla in the dressing room! We had no idea she'd made the dance team at her Houston high school and haven't seen her since she went with us to DW on our family trip in 2021. They both cried when they saw one another and she was so proud of that "first" team trophy her team earned.
