Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

:rotfl: How many years until YOUR retirement? Getting old may be "hell" but retirement is SURE nice. :thumbsup2 It's SO hard to go back to work after a vacation; DH is struggling going to work for his last 14 days. :rotfl: His boss is giving him a retirement party next Saturday...that last week is going to be really HARD. Sounds like a nice vacation though. Y'all HAVE been hot but hopefully cooler temps are on the way...August is half done and fall right around the corner. It's "nice" here tonight since we had a little rain. Temp is only 81...our nighttime lows have been around 85 so we ARE cooler!

I'll stay at a Disney value but won't stay off site at DW again unless we rent a vacation home. That traffic after the parks close is AWFUL. The last time we drove there was an accident on an off ramp...took us almost 2 hours to get back to Kidani. That night I vowed "NEVER AGAIN"! :rotfl2::tink:

lol don't get me started with getting old

I finally broke down and went to the eye doctor after Emily and people at work say that I have been squinting a lot and now I have glasses :(

Ya we have only stayed off site once at DW
onsite is the only way to go because of all the perks and magic lol

That's for sure! It's a nightmare driving those roads after the parks close. :scared1:

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: Welcome to the "4 Eyes Club"! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: I'm hoping my new, STRONGER, glasses will be ready this week. I'm keeping my old frames and this "spare pair" is driving me crazy. I have to look through the stronger bi-focal part to read and my neck drives me crazy when I'm on the computer! :tink:

I found what I want my sister to make me for Christmas :yay:! HOW CUTE IS THIS????

:tink:

I love it. I want one.

:rotfl: I'm having a hard time with staying value too. We SO love WL...and BLT...and the Poly but for the 2 of us for December we were looking at $3,000-$4,000 MORE. Just can't justify that, especially since the only time we'll be spending in our rooms is the Sunday night of our stay...Dallas plays the Giants that night so working our schedule out to be back at the resort no later than 8 PM. When I was getting our house ready for DD & family to move in, I found some OLD DW booklets from the travel agent we used for our first 5-6 trips. Here are some of the resort prices in the '80's...

Too bad they couldn't stay at those prices.

When I was growing up we always stayed off site.:sad2: Then once I started going on my own we always stay ON site.

We've only stayed offsite 6 times. Once in a vacation home that was SUPPOSE to be for 3 families; the other 2 dropped out after I booked so our family of 5 ended up with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, game room and pool! :rotfl: VERY nice but ended up being quite expensive. :headache: Our first 2 trips were offsite simply because we didn't know any better :goodvibes and twice with the high school band. Our offsites were in the DTD area and with the band we rode the charter buses; the vacation home was the Kississimee area so it wasn't very far to travel but the traffic was NOT fun. Not being familiar with the area doesn't help...seems like we always ended up in the wrong lane for the turns we needed to make. :rotfl2: Such a headache and SO not fun. I guess the prices have "kept up" with inflation but seems like they're going a bit overboard now. We ARE in a recession and not many people have received raises the past 8 years. :headache: I just think the deluxe's especially are a little overpriced. :tink:

Is it near the Safari?

Just looked at the weather forecast...low tonight of 71; high tomorrow...only 85...do you have any idea how HAPPY that makes me? :cloud9: And we're having one of those heavy thunderstorms now like you did last night Diane!

Not near the Safari...you've gone to far into Africa. :goodvibes :tink:

At least you had to "get old." I got glasses in 3rd grade, and it's just gotten worse over the years. There are certain frames i can't get because they won't hold my thick lenses. Very thankful for now that contacts work for me!!!!

I would love a DVC but to buy it is too expensive. Thought about renting but the studios are too small to sleep all of us.

Have you looked into the cabins at Fort Wilderness, they sleep at least 6. Not sure what the pricing is, but you would have plenty of space, plus a full kitchen which could save some money on dining out.

Harambe Market?

I love, love, love the deluxe resorts but would rather stay value than wait 2-3 years between trips. ::yes:: :tink:

Yes, if it means I can go to DW more often, I will stay at a budget resort. But I will never stay off property again! :sad2:

i sooooo do not want to go back to work on monday i have been enjoying my week off. but it has been very hot here for us about 88

but we have been keeping busy trying to do things every day going to the beach, water parks fun family stuff

i am sure there is alot of work waiting for me when i get back on monday :(

I saw some cute pictures of James on Facebook. He is getting so big! He's 2? How old are you? Over 30? Getting old does suck but, it also has it's advantages!

DH is struggling going to work for his last 14 days.

14 more days!! :yay: 14 working days or 14 calendar days?

No Ma'am, not a DVC. :scratchin Think about the attractions in Africa and the scenery. This is close to one of the attractions. :scratchin :tink:

Lion King?

Lion King?

14 more calendar days IF he stops on the 29th like he's suppose too. :rotfl: His official retirement date is August 31st but he's planning on using the 30th & 31st for vacation days. :cool1:

:thumbsup2 You've found the correct area but it's not IN the Lion King area. What else is in that area where this might be. In fact, I'll even tell you...it's across from the Lion King attraction. :headache: :tink:

It's noon; I'm finally getting my coffee after getting Redstorm ready to leave for volleyball tournament, trip to Subway for the "starving" Redstorm, picked the daughter of a friend up to get her to school to leave for JV volleyball tournament, stopped at dance studio and FOUND :cool1: the Princesses $100 tap shoes that failed to "find their way into her dance bag" last Friday after practice, dropped Redstorm off at a friends house so that mother can take them to school at 12:15 and now I'm ready to "play" but no one's here to play with :sad2: ... :rotfl2:. Like my BFF likes to say, "Wakey, wakey, rise and shine...."...:lmao: :tink:

...and now we've just made jello in a watermelon:faint:; it's time for the Princess to get off of YouTube and get back to school! :rotfl: Six days and counting...
