Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

::yes:: That's why we're staying value. Don't want to touch my "vacation account"...saving that for the next family trip. Value works for us but I can't see a family staying at one...would have to be at least a moderate. As our trip gets closer I MAY turn it into a split with WL or CR. DH's retirement income will be slightly larger than his current salary plus he already has 2 remodel jobs to do and complete before Christmas and I think the County wants him to continue the inspector position he does now at $100 a visit. Last week he did 8 inspections...that would be AWESOME 'cause any "extra money" will be for travel once I get my damn "dentist credit card" paid off. :headache: The beach and aquarium visits would be awesome...I LOVE Florida beaches. :lovestruc But there are SO many new things at DW since you've been there you'll need at least a week to see the new stuff! :rotfl: :tink:

We would like a room that has a day bed (Poly) or bunk beds (WL). So each kid can have their own bed. Some mods have the extra pull down bed but it looks pretty small. Showed Steph pics of Stormalong Bay she loved that.

I found what I want my sister to make me for Christmas :yay:! HOW CUTE IS THIS????

Are the DVC units to expensive if you buy them? That would be PERFECT! DD got a good laugh last week at the soccer association draft. One of her male high school friends just bought into DVC and they choose The Poly as their home resort. She said Chad is SO EXCITED that's all he can talk about. :rotfl2: She said never did she ever think during all those band practices that CHAD would one day be so "into" Disney World! They couldn't shut him up! :lmao: Bunk beds at WL would be really good too. Those rooms are a little bigger also if I remember correctly. :tink:

I would love a DVC but to buy it is too expensive. Thought about renting but the studios are too small to sleep all of us.

Not associated with anything; just part of the landscaping for the country/village...but it is in a spot that can be "identified". :tink:

Is it new? Is it related to entertainment?

I'm so glad you are planning a trip, Diane! Have you considered the Art of Animation? It's budget suites, I think. When I go to DW, I go for 6 days for DW; 2 for the MK, 2 for Epcot, one for HS and one for the AK.

My compromises: I'm going to go to Disneyland the day after Thanksgiving but only staying 3 days, not my regular 4 days.

And, I'm planning to go to DW 2/25- 3/4 but will have to stay in a budget resort for the first time :( I've always stayed in moderates but the prices keep going up, up, up! It's like $1,200 less to stay in budget vs moderate. :sad2:

DVC is WAY to expensive for us "older folks" :rotfl:... we don't, and never have, made some of the salaries these young folks are making now! :rotfl: Is a 1 bedroom to expensive? Some of them have a sleeper sofa and a lounge chair that folds out into a twin size bed. The 2 bedroom we stayed in at BLT was AWESOME. More room than the 7 of us needed but DD had to use 1 1/2 years worth of points for it.

You are so right Denise...prices are ridiculous but for single/couples travelers they should do. When I stayed at AoA, the room was plenty big for me and/or DH. I love, love, love the deluxe resorts but would rather stay value than wait 2-3 years between trips. ::yes:: :tink:

It's pouring here with nasty thunder storms. Already lost power once.

Smoking area?

Wow...you ARE getting nasty storms! Our power "blinked" once earlier this afternoon but this is just a slow, steady, peaceful, WET rain. :goodvibes Perfect for the grass & plants.

This is not new; not in a smoking area and not related to entertainment. :goodvibes :tink:

I looked at the family suites at AoA, they are a bit less than a deluxe but more than a mod. Plenty of room for us Steph loves the Nemo suite but the décor is a bit bright for me. Looked at DVC a 1 bedroom savannah at AKL is a few hundred cheaper than the Poly but I read that not all rooms are guaranteed the chair sleeper and a 2 bedroom standard view at AKL is the same as the Poly. That would be nice it has a washer and dryer and everyone can have their own bed.

I guess prices have gone up, last time we stayed 10 nights, 5 nights at the Poly and 5 nights AKL savannah view for less than a 10 day moderate stay now.o_O Of course that was many, many, many years ago.:rotfl: Once you stay deluxe it's hard to go back.

i sooooo do not want to go back to work on monday i have been enjoying my week off. but it has been very hot here for us about 88

but we have been keeping busy trying to do things every day going to the beach, water parks fun family stuff

i am sure there is alot of work waiting for me when i get back on monday :(

there is nothing wrong with those budget hotels some of them are pretty nice and really you dont spend alot of time in them because they are not like the hotels in WDW its just a place to sleep. everything else like food and entertainment is outside the hotel

and saving that much its worth it

:rotfl: I'm having a hard time with staying value too. We SO love WL...and BLT...and the Poly but for the 2 of us for December we were looking at $3,000-$4,000 MORE. Just can't justify that, especially since the only time we'll be spending in our rooms is the Sunday night of our stay...Dallas plays the Giants that night so working our schedule out to be back at the resort no later than 8 PM. When I was getting our house ready for DD & family to move in, I found some OLD DW booklets from the travel agent we used for our first 5-6 trips. Here are some of the resort prices in the '80's...

:rotfl: How many years until YOUR retirement? Getting old may be "hell" but retirement is SURE nice. :thumbsup2 It's SO hard to go back to work after a vacation; DH is struggling going to work for his last 14 days. :rotfl: His boss is giving him a retirement party next Saturday...that last week is going to be really HARD. Sounds like a nice vacation though. Y'all HAVE been hot but hopefully cooler temps are on the way...August is half done and fall right around the corner. It's "nice" here tonight since we had a little rain. Temp is only 81...our nighttime lows have been around 85 so we ARE cooler!

I'll stay at a Disney value but won't stay off site at DW again unless we rent a vacation home. That traffic after the parks close is AWFUL. The last time we drove there was an accident on an off ramp...took us almost 2 hours to get back to Kidani. That night I vowed "NEVER AGAIN"! :rotfl2::tink:

DD finally heard from SIL's family living around Baton Rouge. Flooding is AWFUL...exactly like what we experienced in the spring. Some spots have had up to 17". They're okay for now but have friends and 2 of Courtney's cousins who have lost everything. They're a little concerned about later when water "upstream" begins flowing south so we're keeping them all in our prayers. So sad. :sad2: :tink:

Ya we have only stayed off site once at DW
onsite is the only way to go because of all the perks and magic lol
