He has to have a PDT procedure done on a spot on his face; basically it ends up like a severe sunburn. Will need to stay in a darkened room for 48 hours with absolutely NO exposure to either direct or indirect sun. Our head athletic director just had the same procedure done a few weeks ago and in his words, "It hurts like hell"! 
"Fun days" ahead....
