Where have you been stuck?

A couple weeks ago I was stuck on test track just after loading but before the seat belt check for about 10 mins. They seemed to be having problems all morning (the 10 min single rider line took over 40). The ride started up but was jerky and slow throughout and, no, we didn't get a reride.
At Universal we had a hilarious ride on Spiderman where the ride video got out of synch right where you "fall" off the building. They kept fast forwarding and rewinding it while we moved through the rest of the ride. It wad disorienting but cool. They let us get right back on and ride again :)

Being stuck on Space Mountain is one of my favorite Disney memories! I went with a bunch of my girlfriends in the week following exams but before college graduation. We were stuck for about 45 minutes right after you get in your spaceship and go around the corner into the tunnel. All of the lights came on instead the ride, but we couldn't really see from our spot. They sent people in to "calm" us down and explain what was going on. They also said they would evacuate from the highest point down to us last as we were in a safe spot. The way they explained it to us was the ride shut down because something went flying. It was most likely a hat, but since they couldn't be sure it wasn't a "hand" (yes he said that!), the whole ride automatically shut down. We were all 21/22, so we were having a grand old time with the cast members. One of them even said, "Party in Zone 1" which became our theme for the trip. When it was our turn to jump out of the car we had about a five foot drop into the arms of a cast member. I'm not such a fan of heights so this put me in a small panic but I survived! We lingered because it was so cool seeing the inside of Space Mountain. Because we were the last people, we talked with the CMs who were offering fast passes to Stitch. We explained that we had already gone on it and it was frankly lame, so couldn't we please please wait and hang out until it was rebooted? The CMs were fine with it but looked to the manager who ultimately said ok. It took about 20-30 minutes I think. We were just having a blast with everyone and were learning a lot about the workings of the ride. They announced Happy Birthday to my friend over the announcement system. When it was finally time for a practice run they let us on and the manager came with us. It was the story of the trip and one I will NEVER forget :)

We've been stuck in HM a few times and almost always in Spaceship Earth at the top near the Michelangelo painting scene. We always joke that he STILL isn't done yet-lol??? Getting stuck there is like a tradition for us, at this point.

We have gotten stuck on Splash Mountain a few times, but one time I was sitting on the right hand side of the log and we got stuck at the part where the little waterfall hits you if you are on that side (I think it's just after the big drop). Not sure if they had the water turned way up that day or if it was because we were stuck there, but I got splashed and sprayed for a good 10 minutes! Thankfully I was sitting with one of my daughters so I could squeeze closer to her and avoid some of the water. We got to hear the "Looks like Brer Fox and Brer Bear..." message many times!

Now I try to avoid sitting on the right side of the log.

We've had brief stops in the Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World but nothing that lasted more than a couple of minutes. We were stuck on Splash Mountain for quite a bit of time, but I enjoyed taking in all the little details that Disney puts into the ride. Things you may not notice during a normal ride through.

I recall being stuck on Haunted Mansion, POTC, and Spaceship Earth.

We seem to get stuck on Splash Mountain every other time we ride. :confused3 One time in particular, we were stuck for almost 40 minutes in the blazing sun. It was a bit unpleasant, but we were fortunate to have a really fun group in our log. When we exited, they gave us a Fastpasses for any ride of our choice for the remainder of the day.

The Great Movie Ride, right under the alien. We sat there for a while and were eventually evacuated.

Expedition Everest, on the outdoor incline. I'm not typically scared of heights, but I definitely tried not to look down. We were stuck there for at least a couple minutes.

We've been "delayed" on most rides at WDW.....which we attribute to assisting those with special needs. :crutches: We have been stuck a few times on the HM, PeopleMover (had to be evacuated, which was fun!), Pirates...but the absolute worst was Buzz Lightyear. Lordy is that music loud!!!!!:scared: Couldn't carry on a conversation with all that noise drowning you out and folks were yelling to turn the music off. Which, of course, they didn't. We were stuck for a good half hour. I don't believe we went on that ride for a few visits after that!

I always love getting stopped in the Haunted Mansion, even if it's just the short stops for letting guests with disabilities on and off. It's so dark, and there's so much going on, that any extra time gives you an opportunity to see more than you normally would. The first time I ever really saw to owls in the graveyard scene was because we were stopped there long enough.

The only scary time I've been stuck was on Spaceship Earth. I'm not really sure how long it was. but it was in a really steep incline by the caveman scene, It felt like we were practically lying on our backs. It got noticeably hot and humid in there, and we could hear all sorts of gears grinding and clanking. We could hear CM's going up the walkways near the track, but we couldn't see them. Just because of all that atmosphere, the dark cave started to seem kind of sinister!

only SSE, POTC and HM. My DD's choral leader got stuck on IASW..... glad it wasn't me!

Seems I've been stuck on all the same rides as the rest of you (Splash, Small World, Pirates, Haunted Mansion etc).

Although I think the worst was probably Carousel of Progress. As much as I love it, there's only so many times you can hear 'There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow' before it starts to get on your nerves...

Couldn't you just get up and go out the exit doors on COP?

Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mtn, Spaceship Earth & Buzz Lightyear. Whatever we get stuck on, DS just always says he's glad it's not IASW!

In 1984 we were riding the WEDWay PeopleMover & Space Mountain was down & the lights were on. It was cool to see the tracks and, as PP have said, how compact it is!

The worst time we were stuck it was not on a ride. We were in WDW for Easter and the park was so packed you couldn't move at all on Main Street. They closed the park but you couldn't move. Security came out through the stores and escorted us through the stores and out the back door. They then drove us out in trucks. The park remained closed for hours. We haven't gone at Easter again!

Wow! Have you ever written about this experience? I would be interested in reading it. I would have been in a real panic, especially after living in china for years where crowds= stampedes. Did they take volunteers to leave the park or were people forced out the back doors? And where did they bus you to?

I have been stuck on POC where the crabs are on the beach, so pretty early in the ride. Long 'stuck ' time. Lights on and CMs walking around in the scenes.
Stuck on HM near the screaming head. Terrified my young sons, who wouldn't try it again for years.
Last year, stuck on Splash, where we were next in line for the drop. Long wait, then each boat had to be manually evacuated one at a time and we were walked off. None of us cares to try it again, especially since it apparently happens a lot.

Here's another gal stuck on Haunted Mansion- and I am almost always (multiple times) stopped next to Madame Leota. I don't mind- it's the extended version of the ride, yeah?

that sounds kind of cool, actually.

That's what I was thinking re: Safari. Then I remembered I probably would have been needing the ladies room by that time, so it didn't sound so cool anymore.

This thread is making me nervous to ride anything :scared:

The thread about being stuck on Pirates got me wondering about other folks' experiences getting stuck on rides at WDW. Best/worst experiences of being stuck?

Most recently, we were stuck on the Peoplemover in the dark at the Space Mountain portion. It was only about 5 minutes, but it freaked my kids out!
Was just evacuated off of Toy Story Mania a little over an hour ago!
