Where have all the flags gone?

There use to be so many.
Ever year I see fewer and fewer

Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

In fact, I have friends who say it is so neat to see so many flags flying! :cool1:

Ever since 9/11, someone puts flags up on several overpasses on Rte. 50 here in Arlington, VA (not all that far from the Pentagon) during the week prior to that date. So there are quite a few out around here.

I've flown a flag at my house everyday since I've owned it (over 18 years). before that my Dad always had one at his house. I remember being in Walmart after 9/11 and hearing people ***** about not being able to buy a flag when you should have had one to begin with.

My flag is up....the only time it comes down is during bad weather. :goodvibes

I have one flying on my house flagpole!:teeth:

Still flying my flag and always will. Unfourtantly not many people in my neighborhood fly a flag. :(

There a few flags in my neighborhood, we just moved in a few weeks ago, and the previous owner had one that they left, but it is so tattered that we took it down, we are going to get a new one, I'll put that on my shoping list for this weekend!

We haven't forgotten!!!

Ours has been up, only comes down for hurricanes, bad weather, and to be replaced. I have also noticed fewer out though.

I haven't seen much of a flag decrease around here. We don't have one yet. I need to fix the front of the house a bit first so the flag won't look shabby :)

Saw them this morning as a matter of fact.

Our flag at home has been flying since 9/11 and will continue to fly until our troops come home. Which I pray will be sooner rather than later.

Our flag at home was still flying when I left 2 weeks ago. Our driveway still had those little parade style flags all down the sides of it too. My town's Lions Club put flags up on all the telephone poles through the center of town. I forgot to bring my little parade type flag with me to school, and I'm really wishing I had it here with me to stick somewhere in my room. In general though, there definitely are not nearly as many flags.
And BTW, that quote from the song has me in tears. I really do worry that people have forgotten. I was actually listening to that song last night.
