It's just myself and my husband. I am trying to find some other place to vacation next month. We have already done Disney, Las Vegas, new york, and montana this year.

I am really looking for a relaxing place this time, not the run arounds like all the other vacation spots this year.:rotfl:

We LOVE to rent a cabin in the smokey mtn.s over the holidays.
Around Pigeon Forge area is the best - it's fun too!!!

DH and I enjoy cruising in the Caribbean in the winter, to get away from the Michigan freezing cold temperatures and snow. We also love spending several days in the Daytona Beach area, either at a hotel with a direct ocean view or in a condo.

We rented a cabin in the Smoky Mts. a couple of years ago and we're talking about doing that again this spring since we probably won't get away for a winter trip this year.

We also enjoy taking camping trips in the UP.

We'd like to get to Hawaii and Alaska within the next several years. And I've never been out west to see Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, etc. so we've been talking about taking a trip out there as well.

...Puerto Rico....we stay at Villa Montana in Isabela....they are secluded beachfront condos...AWESOME and relaxing!!

I have fallen in love with Sanibel Island in Florida. It's easy to get to, the beach is beautiful and the shells are amazing, there are hotels and condos right on the beach, some very good casual restaurants, and lots of fun boating activities. There's a wonderful wildlife refuge. There are bike paths all over the island. It's a great place to just chill.

my parents LOVE Sanibel Island.

i'm particular to cruising, myself. now, bring me that horizon!! :hyper:

The place we travel to most besides Disney World is Atlantic City. We've also done Disneyland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Miami, St. Augustine, & San Francisco. We've been thinking about Niagara Falls as well.

Europe is beautiful? Spain has some fantastic beaches, as does Greece. I also really like Germany.

Flights from ATL to Cancun aren't that pricey right now. Fly into Cancun, then head south to Playa del Carmen.

Fun and relaxing!

I could never do a relaxing trip in Europe. Too much to see.

We're going to Germany in June.. then onto Alsace and into Paris, so my little girl can see the Eiffel Tower. :) We've been to Paris, so I can smell the bread from here!

We've been to Alaska and on a Disney Cruise. The most relaxing is Kure Beach NC (just wrote about it in my blog linked below) but not sure how warm it is there now.

Also, this is the kind of thing I was wanting to know when I posted this thread, about what attractions other DIS'ers live near- I figured they would know best!

Oh and if you sign up for Clark Howard's newsletter (the radio guy) he sends out hot travel specials out of Atlanta in his newsletter.

Here's another place that looks interesting to me; bear with it because the website is not that good but I think the photographs are very intriguing.

This may not be up your alley but DH has wanted to visit Crater of Diamonds State Park in Ark. since we saw it on the travel channel. You could do Hot Springs in the same visit.

Most relaxing vacations for us have been:

Paris. After prior grueling European vacations, we built in plenty of down time when we went to Paris and it was the best vacation ever.

Maui. We've been 3 times but the best was the oceanfront condo in Kapalua.

Cruising and condo on the beach in Myrtle Beach.

We love going to Hilton Head Island. We stay at the Disney Resort there, but it's very subtle in its Disney touches. Most people who go, go in the summer, but we prefer the off-season when it's quieter. VERY relaxing! Two weeks from today we'll be there.

Smokey Mountains-its queit and peaceful-but you can go to pigeon Forge for shopping etc

Also Biltmore in Ashville-the grandest home in America
:)

We visit the Smokies around 3-4 weekends a year. It is pretty close though, about 3 1/2 hours.

In the past couple of years we have taken trips to Chicago, Myrtle Beach, a tour around CA (LA, SF, Yosemite, DL), Las Vegas with 2 nights at Grand Canyon, Key West and Ft. Lauderdale, and of course WDW. Loved them all, but we like to travel :lmao:
