Hi, just looking for some suggestions on sleeping arangements for out toddler. Our daughter will be 2 in about a month. She has been out of her crib and in a toddler bed for about 2-3 months now, which she loves. When she was in her crib she did ok sleeping in a pack 'n play. But now that she is used to a toddler bed she doesn't sleep that well in a pack 'n play, which we were planning on using for our two weeks in Disney in a week and a half.
Anybody run into similar circumstances? Where does your toddler sleep when you go away if they sleep in a toddler bed at home?

When my DD was in a toddler bed, we put her in a regular bed, with plenty of bed rails on, and she did fine. We just recently bought though these new sleeping bags, called Ready Beds. They are regular sleeping bags with an air mattress underneath, so they are very comfy. They fold up very compactly, and are a breeze to inflate. Maybe something like that would work, since it's so close to the floor, like a toddler bed. I bought mine at Target, they're located in the camping section near all the sleeping bags. They're around $20 - $30 depending on whether you can get them on sale.

DD was 2 when she first went to WDW. She slept in a crib until she was about 3 1/2! So, she slept in the cribs at WDW. We have been there more than 8 times since and she's now 5.

When she was just a few months out of her crib we purchased an Aerobed for her to sleep in at WDW. She loved it! It comes with a little sack and a pump that you charge. You can easily fit the whole thing in a small suitcase and check it for easy travel.

We asked for the bed rails and she was very happy. Honestly I think she slept much better on the Aerobed than in the cribs there.

One Step Ahead has a travel n trundle bed you might want to check out: http://www.onestepahead.com/jump.js...DUCT&iMainCat=117&iSubCat=15&iProductID=91763
I've also seen toddler beds that blow up like the Aerobed except their smaller with sides built in.

If she is used to the toddler bed then I would just put her in the regular bed and request bed rails. They are free. She should do just fine if you place her in the middle of the bed.

I was going to get them for my 2½-year-old son but now he is used to sleeping in his own twin bed and has never fallen out. So, I cancelled that request. We will be putting our 2 boys in 1 bed and my husband and I in the other. I expect to be switching, tho, because I suspect our kids may want to sleep with one of us.

Take care and have fun!

With me!:o And our other DD (5) with my DH. Its only a vacation thing, never at home. Have a great trip!

DS 1.5 will absolutely not sleep in the Pack N Play anymore, so
we ended up putting DS3 in bed with DH and DS1.5 in the other bed with me on this last trip. The kids thought this was fabulous, and they slept even better than they do at home (where they're ALWAYS in their own beds)! I missed having DH right there to cuddle with but the beds were so close together it was almost like all 4 of us being in one big bed. It was kind of a treat for me to be able to snuggle with the baby!

BTW, we asked for the complimentary bed rails and put one on each bed as both kids roll around a lot during the night.

It'll be nice when the kids are older and sleeping away from home isn't such a project, but for now this works just fine for us.

We bought our son the travel bed from The Right Start store for when we vacation, but he is now 3 and used the bed rails on a regular bed on our last vacation. Housekeeping happily brought them. When he was fresh out of the crib I felt much more secure with him on the travel bed.:)

At WL in May we were able to get a room with bunk beds and requested bedrails for DD. Last year she refused to sleep in the pack n play and we didn't want her with us in the king bed so we went to WalMart and got a cheap sleeping bag for her. We also had the portable bed for another vacation but she wouldn't sleep in that. I'd say go with a regular bed with bedrails.
