Where do you stay with 5 people??

We are booked at POFQ for our upcoming trip We have 2 kiddos 5 &3. My sister (12)- I am the oldest of 8 children, may come with us now. My father has been very ill this past year and they have been unable to take the kids on vacation. We would love to have her join us, but need to figure out a way to do it that is cost effective.

Where do you 5 person families stay?? Any help appreciated

We have done 5 at POR. my self, DH and 3 kids (16, 6,8) It worked ok. It's cramped.
If a deluxe is too pricey for you then my might consider 2 rooms at a value or one of the new family suites at ASMU.
I can relate to your problem. I have 2 rooms booked at a value purely so that DH and I can have some privacy, after all it's our vacation too.

We are a family of five and you don't have as many choices as families of 4 or less, that's for sure. We have stayed at POR before ... the Alligator Bayou section has rooms with trundle beds for children under 9, and 2 double beds. It's worked well for us. We have also enjoyed the POLY when we could afford that. The room easily takes 5 ... and that's a standard room. If you go to the Wilderness, you'd need a deluxe suite to accomodate 5. We're going in March and staying at ALL STAR Music Family Suites. We've never stayed there before but we hope to enjoy the extra bathroom and little kitchen area ... and the queen bed.

ASMu Suites would sleep all 5 of you and give you a kitchette and 2 bathrooms. We usually get 2 rooms at Pop when we take my MIL. We love it there, it's really fun.

POR would work well for you, and it's still a moderate. It is beautiful too, the pictures do not do it justice.

we are a family of 5 and have connecting rooms at the POP. It was only slightly more than the suites but we will have 2 tvs and 2 bathrooms. Worth the extra money

Unless you are willing to go with a Deluxe Resort - which will be pricey your options as stated by others are

1. A family Suite at All Star Music
2. 2 Connecting rooms at a value resort
3. POR - with the trundle bed
4. 2 connecting rooms at another moderate - again pricey...

I think the Dolphin sleeps 5 also.

People have already mentioned the POR...I wanted to point out that booking there would be the same price as what you're paying for POFQ.

don't forget a FW cabin. they are awesome and roomy with a full kitchen

We have done the Contemporary, standard room, twice with 5 adults. Rumor has it, they're the biggest standards on property. This wasn't too bad. You also gain the monorail for easy transportation. Good luck!

Next year will be our first trip with our 5th (and final) family member & we will continue to stay at the Poly.

I did look at the Dolphin & since I am a RN I do qualify for the discount (if I was able to get it) but I don't want a double bed since dh & I are used to our king.

Here is a little info on the Family Suites for the OP:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no meatle bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Any of the Deluxe resorts sleep 5 in a standard room except for the WL and AKL. Also, the Swan and Dolphin I believe sleep 5.

we've done POR with 5 and 6 (1 under 3). We had no problems fitting and my kids were ds13, dd's 7, and dd3 last trip. Grandma had the room next door so we sent one of the girls with her, ds had a bed, other dd7 had an air mattress, and the baby had the trundle. With the ages you have you should have no problems fitting into POR AB.
