Where do you stay when flying in late?

I'd do a value resort. That way when you wake up you are already on vacation, instead of still having to catch DME and get to Disney World.

If you need to transfer your luggage from one WDW resort to another, you might not get it until after 4PM on your moving day. Or it could be later. You'll need to call to have it delivered to your room since they won't deliver it to your room without you being there. If you waited until morning to head to WDW, your luggage would be delivered right to your room from DME.

I feel like 12:40 was our best option but I feel like it’s a wasted park day and paying $200 for a room I’m not even in....

The beauty of the room is that you are at your actual resort and can sleep in if you wish. And there’s a strong possibility of staying in the same room as the rest of your stay (assuming it’s the same type of room, you mention the other reservation at checkin, and they can accommodate that), which means then you have that room the whole time and can be comfy from the start.

We paid for a POR room with a flight landing at midnight. Didn’t feel worth it until the next morning when we didn’t have to pack it all up, be “homeless” all day, and then finally be able to unpack thoroughly.

MCO Hyatt is double the price of Pop. Unless you can stay on points it really isn’t a good value.

That is not everyone’s experience with pricing out that hotel.

Hyatt Place Orlando Airport is usually a go-to if we have a late arrival.

It's usually a fraction of the cost of what the Hyatt at the airport costs. You also get the free shuttle service to/from the airport and also free parking if you have a car.

We drive and I do not like using an extra vacation day to drive, so we normally leave Friday after work and we almost always arrive after midnight. We tried saving $ by staying just outside WDW but we really did not like it. So ever since then we will just stay at the resort we booked for that night, we sooooo much would rather sleep in a bit and wake up already at our resort, then getting up early to rush over to WDW.

It doesn't matter what level of resort. You call bell services when you're ready and they will pick it up and take it where it needs to go. When you arrive at the 2nd resort you call and ask for your bags to be delivered.

Not sure why there would be a problem with park tickets.

Had some minor issues with that. Nothing serious but I would avoid the hassle/risk and stay at the airport.

We are staying at a value for one night before transferring to SSR. I plan to have everything we need for the first night and next morning in our carry on. Can we have ME deliver our checked luggage directly to SSR so we don't have to do an additional transfer?

No, they will deliver luggage and you to the value.

We tend not to stay at the Hyatt and prefer to get to our resort ASAP, regardless of the time. One year, because of delays and weather, we arrived at BWV at 3:00 AM instead of 3:00 PM. That 6 AM tee time was real rough the next morning, but my wife was very happy that we got to BWV instead of getting a room someplace else since she slept in until about 10 AM.

So, due to my perfectionistic-induced procrastination, I'm just now booking our flights for our trip that is exactly one month from now. We're booked to stay at BC Villas, but the flight that works best is one that is the night before. One other time we stayed one night at AoA Cars Suite for that first late night, but this flight is even later. We get in to MCO at 11:00 pm. Should we just stay at an airport hotel? Would we still be able to get DME the next morning? Any ideas? Thank you!!
When we fly in late we stay at the Hyatt right in the airport and it works really well, since we can take our time in the morning to get the DME.
