Where do you park at PHL?

We usually do a Park and Fly but we're taking a late flight out and back. Doesn't make sense to do a park and fly.

Where are some good places to park? We were thinking of Long Term parking for the convienence.

I agree with the previous poster, we do the same. So much easier, we do this every time we fly out of Philly. :cool1:

We are having the same dilemma and I think we are going to park at the airport for convenience. We need to be at the airport at 5:30 AM and we are returning at 8:30 PM. It's probably twice the price of the lots near the airport but I think we will just consider it the price of convenience.

We've used Smart Park in the past and it has worked out well for us.

There are several places to choose from. All have competitive rates. I think the closest to PHL is Wally Park (it is basically "next door" to PHL).

PHL parking is pretty pricey.

Here is a link to the rates inside the airport

http://www.phl.org/directions.html

The "economy" lot is $11 per day. I know the one time that I used it, we had a 15 minute for the shuttle at the stop and then traveled around the lot. When we returned we had another 20 minute wait.
I typically use Winner Airport Parking. It is a valet, so it isn't the place for you if you don't want to leave your keys with someone else. They do photograph your car before it leaves the lot. I have used the about 10 times in 3 years and have never had a problem. I always use the "White Glove Service" where for an extra $10-$12, you can leave directly from the airport.
I always check longtermparking.com for the best rates as you can access all of the lots near the airport for any state, not just PA.

We LOVE ExpressPark - it's on Tinicum Island Rd. You can sometimes get coupons in those Val-Pak envelopes you get in the mail. It's 6.95/day. When you pull into the lot, the shuttle van immediately follows you until you park. They help you with your bags and immediately take you to the terminal. Very friendly and efficient. They give a a card with a phone number for pick up. It is so much cheaper and so much faster than the PHL long-term parking (where you have to haul your luggage to a bus-stop and wait for the shuttle to make the rounds)

I've used the PHL lots and also like FastTrack self parking.

If you're away long enough, you might also look at two one-way car rentals. Did that last trip (with Avis) and saved quite a few $$$ and didn't have my car baking in the summer sun for two weeks.

We've always parked at the Ramada Inn, never had a problem with their shuttle, it's reasonably priced and secure. If we have an early flight, sometimes we'll stay at the Ramada for the Park & Stay deal but for some reason I recall the room rates being much less on the Ramada site. Great for early flights.

Can I scare everybody??

On my 13th birthday (seriously, on the day...so granted this is now 11 years ago, but still...) our car was stolen out of the PHL parking garage.

We haven't parked in the garage since. We use Pacifico (or did, we've since moved.)

Another vote for Winner, we'll be using them again next week.

Another Vote for ExpressPark. We just used them for the first time in August. We have always had people drop us off since we are only 20 minutes from the airport but we were going on a cruise (4 of us) and there was just to much luggage. We piled ourselves and our luggage into our Grand Caravan. We arrived at ExpressPark and checked in at the booth. A van followed us and we were at the airport in less than 10 minutes. When we returned we called them after we retrieved our luggage and they were there in less than 5 minutes. We will DEFINITELY use them again in April when we go on another cruise. We used the $6.95 per day coupon in ValPak.

We used Fast Track self park lot last week.
Arrived 6 am on 9/26 and returned 9 pm on 10/3

It costs us about $68.00 for 8 days with tax included

Hope this helps

Winner is a winner and you can use the longterm parking link for a coupon. I have used them for years for business travel. I am there every week. You can also use their vallet svc for $10 more where you leave right from the airport.

MaryKatesMom.....I see you're from Clarks Summit which means you'll probably use I476 all the way to 95N.......same as we do. We've been using Colonial Airport Parking in Essington .....which means you're only on 95N for about 2 miles, if that. It's a very easy on, easy off exit. They always have a coupon on their website for $1.00 off per day........with taxes and the coupon it's about $8.00 daily. Their shuttles run continuously through the parking lot.....by the time you have your bags out of the trunk the shuttle is there to pick up. It's a secure lot, very well lit......we've used them exclusively for almost six years now.......usually 3 times a year.

You know what I've done ..... we've stopped worrying about airport parking.

I've been using a Limo. I've been getting round trip Limo Service for about 200.00 bucks.

For an extended stay (10 Days), its really not that much more than paying for parking. But so much more convenient.

We usually use Winner also, but on our last trip used WallyPark on 291 at International plaza. It is closest to the airport (We were in a BIG hurry and they got us there in just a few minutes). They also give a AAA discount.
