Where do you own?

1. Where is your home resort? I have 2, OKW & VWL.

2. How long have you been a DVC member? 10+ years.

3. How many points do you have? Currently 585, but in the process of selling 175.

4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc). 1 bedroom, but if more than 2 of us, we book a 2 bedroom.

5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? Both.

6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? Love the larger rooms.

7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? VWL, OKW, BWV, BCV, AKV. OKW is our favorite.

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? I would have purchased all my contracts at OKW.

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? We go to WDW more often.

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? Don't use "free dining" but feel we've saved a ton of money compared to the two week at a time stays in Deluxe that could cost as much as the initial DVC purchase.

1. Where is your home resort? SSR

2. How long have you been a DVC member? 3 months :) (though sis has owned for 15+ years)

3. How many points do you have? 200

4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc). We usually go every other year. My sister has been very generous and she'd bank one year then the following year book a GV for 5-7 days. She'd take all of us (parents, brother, me - even my DH when he was only my boyfriend). With my points we'll be staying for 2 weeks in GV this year (1 week OKW and 1 week SSR). Going forward, I expect we'll take more, shorter trips and probably opt for two 2 bedrooms (our families are still growing).

5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? Resale

6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? The larger rooms and common living room/kitchen/dining area.

7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? VWL, OKW, BWV. OKW is by far our favorite. Will be staying at SSR this year.

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? No, but have yet to stay at my home resort so we shall see. Likely will want to add on at VGC since we are west coasters.

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? We plan vacations as a full family. It also helped to enable my DH and I to get married at WDW. Finally, it makes DH go on real vacations (not just long weekends).

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? We would definately do it all over again (especially since we JUST did it). :thumbsup2 The free dining would obviously be nice, but it's only around for so long and isn't during F&WF (our favorite time to go) nor at DL (where we vacation more often).

1. Where is your home resort?
SSR.
2. How long have you been a DVC member?
May 2009.
3. How many points do you have?
170.
4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc).
Thus far only 2 bedrooms and I don't see that changing. We are 2 adults and 3 children. We used our DVC last June at the GCV and in March in Cabo.
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale?
Disney.
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member?
Always having beautiful accommodations that are already paid for.
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite?
OKW, GCV, and AKV. LOve them all.
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?
We would have spilt points between GCV and SSR.
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?
We no longer have to cram 5 of us in the POR when at WDW or pay the insane rates for the Disneyland properties.
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?
Would do it again and will add on. :cloud9:

-BWV, BLT, OKW, BC... Favorite.. Boardwalk without question

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?

2. How long have you been a DVC member? 1999
3. How many points do you have? 375 BWV, 100 BLT
4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc). Depends on our plans. This year we are going twice but we are going to Disneyland staying at GCV and BWV for Food & Wine, unless I squeeze another trip in with friends. Thats the beauty of DVC
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? Disney
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? The ability to share with family and friends. I've been very fortunate and never had that bad experience with family or friends.
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? All but AKV. My favorite is BWV, my DH love WLV, but since I make the reservations you can guess where we usually end up at
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? No. I'ld really be happy to call any of the resort my home resort.
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? It forces me to get away even if it's only for a weekend with friends. It is especially important to my family since my DH has a very stressful job and NEEDS to take his vacations.
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? Yes, I would still do it over again. Free dining doesn't interest me as it's WAY too much food. I'll take my prepaid rooms over continuing rising prices for the near future. DVC was the best thing I did for my sanity
Have fun and Thanks

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?
-Nope. Love BLT. Hoping we love AUL just as much.

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? would have done it again, my DH would not go for the free dining promos, not with my very picky eater son, and not with having to be tied to so many table-service meals. DVC just fits our lifestyle and attitudes much better than booking on promotions yearly

my answers in blue

I saw this survey on another board and thought I would post it here for fun, although I changed it up a little. I'm curious and DVC is always in the back of my mind.. I was wondering:

1. Where is your home resort?
BLT
2. How long have you been a DVC member?
2009
3. How many points do you have?
160
4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc).
Well, we banked our 2009 points and used both 2009 and 2010 to spend 2 full weeks in a LV Studio at BLT for our Disney Wedding and Honeymoon! We are going again for our Anniversary but this time for 8 days in an MK view Studio. 2012 we will do two 5 day trips (planning on staying at AKV in may 2012 and BWV in October)
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale?
Disney
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member?
The continuous planning of a vacation. I just love the planning and researching! Oh and the access to member services totally beats waiting on hold forever on the regular line.
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite?
Well, so far just BLT so I guess that is our default favorite!
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?
Not at all. I love BLT because of the location and easy access to the monorail and MK.
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?
Like someone else said, it no longer allows us to give excuses NOT to vacation. I like to think of it as a giant vacation savings plan. lol. If for some reason we can not go one year, we can bank the points and make up for it the next year!
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?
Well, so far, I would definitely do it again. It just makes sense for us and was the right decision at the time so I will never regret it.
Have fun and Thanks
:flower3:

1. Where is your home resort? Bay Lake Tower
2. How long have you been a DVC member? Since June 2010
3. How many points do you have? 120
4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc). Right now it is just my husband and I so we usually stay in a studio. We try to use break up our points for two yearly trips.
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? We bought from Disney
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? I feel like I can get up and go to Disney whenever I feel like it.
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? I have stayed at (DVC resorts) Saratoga, Animal Kingdom-Jambo, Boardwalk. (I also have an Old Key West and Bay Lake trip planned this year) So far I would have to say my favorite is Animal Kingdom-Jambo
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? Nope. :)
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? I am able to do so much more. When I went to wdw with the hubby on our honeymoon I thought it would be the last trip in years! Who knew that I would go two more times (using DVC) in the following year!? Also, with banking and borrowing, I have planned a June trip to take my entire family. (Parents, Brothers and Grandparents for 5 nights 2bdrm BLT). I would not have been able to afford it without DVC.
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? I would do this over and over and over again.

I saw this survey on another board and thought I would post it here for fun, although I changed it up a little. I'm curious and DVC is always in the back of my mind.. I was wondering:

1. Where is your home resort?
BCV and SSR

2. How long have you been a DVC member?
2003

3. How many points do you have?
200 SSR/ 300 BCV

4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc).
I usually go every 6 months to WDW (2 bedrooms), but I use my points on Cruises and Concierge Collection

5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale?
Disney for both contracts

6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member?
Flexiblity and ability to stay on Disney property. The location can not be beat

7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite?
I have stayed at SSR, BVC, BWV. Will be staying at OKW for 1st time in May. My favorite is BCV.

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?
The only thing I wish is that I would have bought all my points at BCV versus 200 at SSR. I love BCV and if they said tomorrow me could only stay at our home resort I would be ok with that since I Love BCV and the THV at SSR.

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?
It has enabled me to vacation more often and go to places I never would have gone otherwise

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?
I would still buy DVC and buy all my points at BCV. I don't enough for free dining and I am too much of a control freak to trust renting points from anyone. I like being in control of my reservations and vacations and do not want to rely on someone else calling and making arrangements for me

1. Where is your home resort? Bay Lake Tower
2. How long have you been a DVC member? Since January 2010
3. How many points do you have? 200 at first with 2 addons I'm up to 450...weeeeee
4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc). We have been there for several short visits this year and one week long trip with friends in a 2BR...we are quickly learning the convenience of having a 1BR for the 4 of us, even though I know a studio si just fine for short trips
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? We bought from Disney
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? Knowing that I can be planning the next trip the minute I get home....I'll be back and even though my kids are 10 and 6 now, I have the sense that one day I will walk down Main St. with my grandkids and I love that feeling! I guess it gets down to all the memories we are making!
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? I have stayed at SSR and BLT so far. My home resort of BLT is winning out of the 2 for me for its sheer convenience. We are staying at AKV-Jambo house for spring break and I can't wait!
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? No! I'm glad I listened to my hubby who has always wanted to stay at a monorail resort....I'm glad to be able to do that for him (and me too :) )
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? I feel like I've really been drinking the Disney kool aid, but I know that I will be perfectly happy to go to Disney for any and all vacations for many many years to come....whether I go to parks or not, though right now you can't keep me from the parks. My 1st annual pass this year has created a monster in me I'm constantly trying to find ways to get down there for one more use on the passes!
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? My only regret is not figuring out how to do this sooner!

:cool1::cool1:

1. Where is your home resort? AKV-KIDANI

2. How long have you been a DVC member? Since August 2008

3. How many points do you have? 310 Thanks to an add on 2 weeks ago

4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc). 1-2 trips per year in at least a 1 BR depending on how many are going with us. We enjoy the larger accommodation giving us some space separate from the kids. Plus we do use the kitchen for breakfast and simple snacks after the parks.

5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? Disney

6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? Always knowing that there will be another vacation

7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? We have stayed at SSR, BWV, and AKV-Kidani. My favorite is AKV.

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? No-I originally wished I had picked VWL, but with the longer expiration and now that I have stayed there, I have no regrets in my decision.

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? Yes-we get to go at least once a year if not more.

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? I would definitely do it all again. Owning DVC guarantees that I will get to go at least once a year. I wouldn't book just for free dining. Renting also contains some risk that we are not comfortable taking.

1. Where is your home resort?
OKW, my favorite!
2. How long have you been a DVC member?
2000
3. How many points do you have?
210
4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use.
3 per year usually - 2BR with friends/family, short stays 3/4 days
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale?
Resale, $61 p/ point
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member?
I love the accomodations, the grounds, and the ambiance of a Disney resort.
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite?
All except BLT, & THV, and of course Hawaii. OKW remains my favorite w/ SSR/BWV/AKV as close 2nds.
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?
No, I used a friends OKW DVC and fell in love with it in 1999.
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?
We always vacationed but with it being so close for us, it's our quick getaway 3 times a year
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?
I would do it again, free dining holds no attaction for my family. I like having a living room, I love having a washer dryer, I love to cook in my villa and nothing beats coming and going at will from the parks that are so close by. Gone are the commando days!

1. Where is your home resort?
AKV and, as of last week, HHI too:goodvibes
2. How long have you been a DVC member?
2008
3. How many points do you have?
100 at AKV and now 50 more at HHI
4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use.
The plan is to take a 5-night trip to WDW in June, staying 2 nights in a studio and 3 nights in a 1BR, and buy AP's. The next year, we'll do the same thing, but in April over spring break. This will use 3 year's of AKV points. On our "off" year, we'll use 3 years of HHI points and stay for 5 nights in a 1BR over spring break. Ideally, I would like to do another 25 points at HHI so that we can go in the summer or upgrade to a 2BR when the kids get older.
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale?
AKV was bought resale; HHI was bought direct
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member?
Not having to worry about the price difference between a value and a moderate and automatically getting to stay "deluxe"
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite?
I've only stayed at OKW and AKV (bought HHI even though we've never been to South Carolina!) and I love them all for different reasons. I'm hoping to use some points for a birthday trip this October and I'm thinking about trying out a different resort:love:.
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?
Absolutely NOT!! The 1BR values are the best kept secret and I want my 11-month window to make sure I can book one when I want it.
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?
We actually TAKE vacations now! We chose to pre-pay for the vacations so that we would feel the obligation to take them. Kind of like a dining plan...wouldn't want those credits to go to waste:lmao:.
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?
I would have saved a ton because we wouldn't be taking regular vacations! Now, it is much easier for me to save up for trips because there is no need to budget for a hotel room.

I saw this survey on another board and thought I would post it here for fun, although I changed it up a little. I'm curious and DVC is always in the back of my mind.. I was wondering:

1. Where is your home resort?

VWL, AKV and HHI

2. How long have you been a DVC member?

8 Years

3. How many points do you have?

290

4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc).

HHI - once a year, studio or 1BR
WDW - once or twice a year, studio or 2BR (depending upon if we take DS and DD)

5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale?

Disney

6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member?

Having our vacations paid for ahead of time

7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite?

VWL, AKV, OKW, SSR, BWV and HHI

Favorite - VWL

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?

Would have got all the points at VWL even if it meant buying addons through resale market, making it easier to get 11 month reservations. I think this is going to be more and more important in the future.

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?

Made it possible to do regular vacations to WDW every year.

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?

Absolutely YES!! No second thoughts at all.

home resort OKW,member since day 1,10/5/1991.over 400points,4+trips a year everything from GV,2br,1br,studio,and transferring points to stay in Fort Wilderness in our 32Ft RV.Back then there was no resale,Best thing is owning a piece of the Magic, except for FW we always stay at OKW,and no would not buy any other resort(you can't beat the value in room size of OKW.Changes are that I can now play Golf any time of year, and I would do It again in a HEARTBEAT

I saw this survey on another board and thought I would post it here for fun, although I changed it up a little. I'm curious and DVC is always in the back of my mind.. I was wondering:

1. Where is your home resort? BLT

2. How long have you been a DVC member? Since 2009

3. How many points do you have? 210

4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc). For the most part, it will be one a year, but hoping to squeeze in a long weekend with just DH and I every other year.

5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? Both. I started with resale, added on through Disney a week after closing, and then sold the resale contract.

6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? Just knowing that my Disney trips are taken care of for a long, long, long time. It gives me something to always look forward too!

7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? BLT is our favorite and the only reason we bought. I have also stayed at BWV, BCV, and VWL. I loved BCV and am giving BWV another try. We have BW view this time so it may move it closer to the top.

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? Nope! We didn't buy in to DVC prior to 2009 because we didn't want to stay anywhere other than within walking distance to MK. Owning BLT was relaly the only option for us.

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? It has made it more relaxing and we don't worry about going to the park for just a few hours. We also don't feel guilty if we spend time at the resort for longer periods in the afternoon. We know we will be back year after year so its not as hectic.

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? Definitely would do it again and no, having to wait for Disney deals was way too nerve racking. Now, I have my discount and don't have to stress. I could never have gone the renting route as I could never give up control of my reservation nor am I comfortable getting in to a rental that has such restricted cancellations policies.Have fun and Thanks

We just love our DVC and would not change a thing about the program!

I saw this survey on another board and thought I would post it here for fun, although I changed it up a little. I'm curious and DVC is always in the back of my mind.. I was wondering:

10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?I would do it again, we usually eat 1 meal a day in villas, I think this year I am trying the disney gift cards to give to everyone for food to see if we spend less than the dining plan.
Have fun and Thanks

We love it!

Like many others on this thread, the free dining and renting does not appeal to me and I feel the memories that I have experienced over the years with family and friends is priceless. I would do it all over again in a New York minute.
