4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc).Usually only go every 2-3 years, then we take a 1 bedroom.
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? From Disney
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? Freedom to go when you want.
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? OKW, Saratoga, Boardwalk, Contemporary. OKW is my favorite.
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? No
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? Not really
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points?

I saw this survey on another board and thought I would post it here for fun, although I changed it up a little. I'm curious and DVC is always in the back of my mind.. I was wondering:

4. How do you and/or your family use DVC? (how many trips do you take a year? what accommodations do you use (studio/1/2 bedroom etc). We average 2 trips a year; when it's just my husband and myself, we get a one bedroom; but we have used all sizes, most recently a GV
5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? Both, the first 3 directly, the last 2 contracts via the Timeshare Store
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? Knowing you can return, so everything doesn't need to be done on the current trip.
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? We have stayed at OKW, WLV, BWV, HHI, SSR, and Vero, and will stay at Kidani for the first time next week. OKW is my favorite.
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? That wasn't an option when we joined, but I'd probably pic OKW if I had a choice.
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? We go more often and the trips are more relaxing because we know we can return.
10. Do you feel you would do it all again or do you think you could have saved a ton of money by doing the free dining when it is available or by renting points? We would do it again.

DW and I own 275 points at SSR. We purchased in Feb of 2006 and have tried to get down to WDW twice a year. We like the 1 bedroom but lately have invited friends and family and just had a little girl so we will be staying in the THV the next 2 trips. We have stayed in a number of the DVC resorts but we enjoy SSR the best.

I would do it all over again. Knowing what I know now I would have purchased more DVC points instead of spending money on some of my other hobbies (snowmobiling and boating). We enjoy the entire process... the day after we get back from a trip we have already begun thinking about what we are going to do on the next trip.

Almost forgot, we purchased from Disney.

5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale? Disney
6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member? Knowing that my vacations are essentially paid for and I'll never pay rack rate or have to stay off site again!
7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite? BLT, BWV - of the 2 of them BLT (close to MK and I love the TOWL)
8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now? Maybe - I'll have to see we're staying at BCV this Aug - I really like the feel over there
9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation? Actually less stress knowing we have the Disney trip planned each year and now we have a tradition - the kids like that. And we stay longer

4. We take on average 2 trips a year in 1 bdrms or 2 bdrms with another family, who are also DVC members.

6. I'm guaranteed a vacation-at least the accommodations are taken care of!
7. Hilton Head, BCV, BWV, AKV, SSR & BLT. We love them all for different reasons, but...AKV would be my top pick for overall resort. BLT is a very close 2nd due to the room sizes and it's fabulous location!!!
8. Not at all!!!
9. We plan a lot further in advance for the 11 month windows.
10. I rented once and while it went very smoothly, I like being in control of our own points. I also like the perks (i.e. discounts on AP's).

We were planning on just 1 trip per year. Then we got to fit in an extra trip right before Christmas (& purchase AP with the DVC discount) We also went from a studio to a 1 BR. Conclusion: We need more points

5. Did you buy from Disney or Resale?

Disney. We went to the Doorway to Dreams store in Schaumburg, IL, and we were very happy with how everything was handled. We will likely use Disney for any add-ons.

6. What is the best thing about being a DVC member?

Staying in Deluxe accommodations and taking a more laid back vacation

7. Which resorts have you stayed at and which is your favorite?

BLT & SSR so far. We're happy with our home resort, but we enjoy trying new ones. VB and AKL are coming up this summer.

8. Looking back, would you have picked a different home resort than the one you have now?

I wouldn't mind owning at VWL too, but I suppose I should stay there first.

9. How has being a DVC member changed the way you vacation?

Yes! More relaxed pace is awesome!

We'd do it all again, no question. Just wish we'd done it sooner!
