Where do you make the robots at at Epcot and what do you do after you make them? How long is the wait in July? We are going July 12-19.

I think it was Innovations, not sure exactly where. But you get in line for the area and first go through a demo on Plastics. Then they take you into a game area where you can race others as a virtual robot. Then you exit into the building area and can build your personal robot.

The "robots" are just made of little differenty-colored plastic body parts that you snap together, sort of like a cheap model kit. You don't really do anything with them after you're done building them. :)

it's the fantastic plastic works in innoventions east

My kids, 5 and 7, absolutely loved it. First you build a robot on a computer, choosing color, size, shape, etc, and then 8 kids "race" them on the computer. After the race is finished, they can build their own.

We were surprised we hadn't heard anything about it on the DIS boards...it was one of the highlights of our trip!

sounds cool! just made of note not to forget this one when we go!

We did this with my nephew that is special needs and in a wheelchair and we were able to skip the before hand stuff since he couldn't do the racing part anyway-they had us wait off to the side and when the group that we would have been in if we went through the whole thing got to the building section they let us in.It became my nephews favorite toy the reat of the trip-he chewed on it quite happily! So if you have a child in wheelchair you can still do the building part with them.

My DD and DS did this in Oct and loved it! The wait is not short even with only a few in front of you - there are maybe 9-12 computers to "race" on and everyone starts together. That whole process takes about 15 minutes per group - but very fun and it's nice to see it run through once before you have to do it yourselves. My DD was 10 and DS was 6 so I made them go together on one computer - DS would have needed help. Lots of hand/feet/eye coordination. Then on to puttting the robot together - very fun. Truth be told I made one too!:rolleyes1

All in all totally fun, nice spot out of the sun and something you certainly can't do anywhere else!
