Where do YOU go for your favorite beach vacation? And what state are you from?

bsnyder .... I live in Tampa, FL and our favorite beach is about an hour south of us - Anna Maria Island


We are in the east cost of Florida but have to second Anna Maria Island!!! Our family have been going there every year for 18 years now.... we just love the beaches there.

I am from Long Island and I also love the Fire Island beaches.

We used to always go to either Rehoboth or Ocean City, md, but lately we have been going to a smaller beach just a bit past Rehoboth. I can't remembver what it's called (something Tower, I think) but you do have to pay a small fee. It really nice & quiet there. No boardwalk but there is a concessions stand.

I'm also from PA and my favorite beach is Ocean City, MD.

I live in Tennessee and my favorite beach is on Ocracoke Island in the NC Outer Banks.

Cape Cod ,Mass. "Nauset Beach" in Orleans Ma. Great ocean beach with "Liam's" Clam Shack for great Onion Rings and Fried Clams...nice to go in the fall,too !!!

We live in GA, but my DH is from Pensacola, FL. Our favorite beach is
Destin. You can't beat the sugar-white sand and the fresh seafood is to die for

I agree about Destin but I love Gulf Shores, AL and Orange Beach, AL...kinda partial.....

Fire Island beaches are the best- top beach being either Robert Moses (15min from the house) and walking to Kismit for lunch (at The Out which is right next to The Inn) OR driving the hour to Dolphin beach in what I think is considered South Hampton (mmm passing the houses of the rich)

We have a summer place on Sugar Island in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan in the upper pennisula. I love my beach there. Just putting my feet in the calm blue waters and watching the freighters go by on their way through to the Soo locks!!

DH and I went were at state park in Rehoboth Beach this past August and hundreds of dolphins surrounded us while we were kayaking. They were close enough to touch. I have to say it was one of the top 5 most exciting moments of my life.

I have so many wonderful memories of Myrtle Beach from my childhood, but I think our future beach vacations will be in Rehoboth. The beach is simply beautiful. The tax free shopping in DE doesn't hurt either. Outlet malls as far as the eye can see.

I am in VA and we normally go to Nags Head, NC (or one of the beaches in that area, from Nags Head, north to Corolla). This year we went to Myrtle Beach, SC for the first time and really enjoyed it. We have reserved a house in Litchfield Beach, SC for next summer. When in FL we really love Clearwater Beach (will go there next month for a day while in Orlando).

My favorite is St. Simons Island, GA. We go to Disney to get tired (there is no sleeping at Disney) then we head to the beach to rest and relax on the way home.

I've been to lots of beaches. I loved Ocean city, NJ as a kid....Prep's Pizza=YUM. We've been all up and down the NC/SC coast. My very favotie is Sunset Beach. Its a little island right on the NC/SC line. It is almost totally residential; no big hotels or stores or boardwalks. Just family friendly, quiet and relaxing.

NJ here and Bethany Beach Delaware or Ocean City Maryland are great. I actually have a beach in my town, down the street, only my town's residents can get a badge for it. Salsbury Beach MA is nice too.

My favorites are Ogunquit, ME and Horseshoe Bay, Bermuda
