Where do you go for the best fares on airline tickets?

I am now searching for the cheapest fares to get 5 of us to Orlando.

I have done the Orbitz and Travelocity etc sites, but I am wondering if there is someplace else or if there are places to get travel vouchers for cheaper flights etc.

If I go through AAA they charge me a $70 service charge (no matter how many tickets I get) and even if I end up saving some, that service charge seems to take away the savings.

How do you all buy your tickets?

I've gotten best prices using travelocity, Southwest, and America West. You might also want to try a differnt airport. I know for my brother it's about 100.00 cheaper to have someone bring him accross border to IN.

you can try www.cheaptickets.com or try www.bestfares.com.

My lucky break came from Orbitz for our Jan 2004 trip. Round trip from SFO to Orlando $132 per person all taxes and fees included. You just have to be persistent becasue within 5 hours the prices had shot up to $500 per person.

Good Luck.

I check Orbitz, Expedia, etc and when I see a good airfare I just go to the carriers site and they normally have the same price seats there. No services charges or anything like that.

I don't know what your travel dates are, but try Jetblue.com, they fly from Long Beach airport (I see you're in So Cal) to MCO.

I've always gotten the best rates direct from the airlines rather than through expedia or orbitz, etc.

Going to specific airline websites show better web fares sometimes than Travelocity, etc. Southwest is good and flying out of , say ONT (in California) might save you some $. Bookiing weeks in advance is good, too. Being flexible on your travel dates helps as well.

My husband got a GREAT deal thru Alaska Airlines, but we're on the West Coast. We paid $1400 for 2 adults, 2 kids (but the kids fly free right now) a 5-day park-hopper pass, and our room for 5 nights. A lot of people have told us this is a great deal!

Go to the website of your local airport. It will list EVERY airline that flies out of there. Compare it against the airlines that fly into Orlando. Check the airlines that fly to Orlando using their websites for pricing. Many airlines have special internet rates, and sometimes they are better than the travel brokers. Try different times and different days (day before you initially were leaving, day after, etc.). Usually the discount airlines are the cheapest (Southwest, ATA, Song, Spirit, etc.) Flexibility and patience can make a big difference.

I usually haunt Delta like a bad nightmare until a suitable fare comes along.
