I'm curious where you get coupons (and other discounts) for restaurants and such in Orlando. We'll be visiting UOR and staying on and off-site (Four Corners area), happy to use the popular chains.

Gina, I'm looking at YOU. :goodvibes That last TR inspired me to look for ways to save a few bucks.

We will use our CAA discount where possible, and also have one Universal AP for discounts there...

I always look at the local Groupon for whatever area we're travelling to before we go...

Sign up on restaurant websites. They usually send you a coupon to use

Ha ha, yes! It became the family joke that we wouldn't patronize a particular establishment unless Mom had a coupon :rotfl: . LOL, it was just that coupons seemed to be so EASY to find!

Definitely keep an eye on Groupon. Cici's Pizza is often there. We have purchased a Groupon for The Knife for our May trip.

Signing up for each individual restaurant's e-club is also very worthwhile. Friendly's initial sign-up incentive was something like 10 or 20% off your first visit. I think Sweet Tomatoes is a BOGO buffet offer. Most of the chains seem to have some sort of e-offers running. If you can't find a coupon, you might be able to find an in-store offer (like Chili's....they have some great promos, like 2 for $20, which don't require a coupon but are a rockin' good deal!).

We got some useful dining coupons in the Entertainment Book. Of course, you have to buy that (which will negate some of the savings) but one of our books was purchased for just $7. We got that back 10 times over with using the BOGO mini golf and attraction offers that were also featured in the book.

I have pulled some from this site:

And also from here:

Before we travel, I also use Google to search for coupons for every place we know we want to visit. Its a little more hit and miss, but sometimes I find them in the most random places!

Just a heads up that the Groupon for Cici's expires in February (we used one in December). It might come back, but it won't work for our March trip. However.. there's one on Living Social for the same price/deal and it doesn't have the same expiry date (I can't remember if it doesn't have one or it's later.. I just saw it would work for our trip).

The Sweet Tomatoes offers change from week to week but they will send you an email every week. Generally it worked out to $40 for our family of four with drinks to go for dinner. Totally worth it!! We loved it.

I don't know if you plan on Downtown Disney at all, but signing up on the Earl of Sandwich site gets you a coupon for a free sandwich sent to your email.

One thing I would suggest is to wait a little closer to the trip to sign up for the email clubs because some of the offers are timed and they won't still be good when you go. I know the Earl of Sandwich one is only good for the month you sign up (though you get another one on your birthday month).

We picked up the Entertainment book for Orlando before Christmas for $15 (and free shipping). It is about twice the thickness of the Ottawa book, probably thicker than the Toronto book, and has more coupons than we can use on our vacation. The discount offers for these books seem to come up almost monthly.

BTW - we just added an extra 3 nights onto our March stay for "just the boys" (A+ won't join us until the Saturday once school is out). :cool2:

Check out their FB pages or get on e-mail lists of places that interest you. A lot of places will give you something just for signing up.

I've used http://www.restaurant.com/ and I purchased a $50 Certificate for $11. The only caveat is that you must spend $100 at this place, so that would cost me a next of $61 plus taxes, tip for a $100 plus meal. I have this for the House of Blues Crossroads in DTD.

There are different requirement for different locations.

We used this one as well and it was well worth it! We really enjoyed the meal. I believe I used a Black Friday code for half off so I got for a little under $6. Check "retailmenot" and see if there are any coupon codes for restaurant.com before purchasing.

Thanks for all the tips, folks. I set up a new gmail addy for all the things I signed up for. Lots to check for! :goodvibes

To get Restaurant.com to work do you need to put in a US address? can you just put in the hotel address or something?

I'm having trouble with it!

I used my address and then put Florida in as the State and then the zip code for Animal Kingdom 32830 ... you print this anyways.

You could be running into a problem with matching your credit card address ... do you have a pay pal account? i used that option ...

I also just used the zip code and address of where we were staying on vacation. It took my credit card with no issues.:)

ETA) now that you mention it.. I think I did use my credit card through Paypal.

The Living Social one expires 90 days after purchase.
