Where do you Eat the First night at WDW?

Last time we went went to Rainforest Cafe at DTD the day we flew down and plan to do so again in April.

We usually eat somewhere close to where we are staying that doesn't involve taking a bus. Last year we stayed at the BC so we at in Epcot at Biergarten in Germany. This year we are staying at the GF and we will be eating at the Wave at the Contemporary.

We are only coming up to our second trip but we love O'Hana and are doing that for our first night dinner again this year. We had such an incredible experience last year and it really gave us a nice bit of Disney magic!

Ditto on that. We always have our first dinner at Ohana's. :goodvibes

We have been to the world 6 times and we always go to Chef Mickeys for dinner our first night:goodvibes We get so excited for it

This is only our second trip with the kids, so we don't have a tradition or anything. Last time, we ate at some fast food place, I don't even remember. But we stayed off site, and had to rent a car, check into our condo and get some groceries. We went to DTD and got settled in instead of focusing on a big, sit down meal.

This time, I wanted our first meal to be Chef Mickey's, but we've had a change of plans. My parents have decided to join us on the first few days there, and there are other places I'd rather they get to see/eat at. So, I've decided it would be alot less hectic to go to a park and just eat there. I decided that we'll be going to Epcot, so we'll be eating at LeCellier. We're eating at Chef Mickey's on our last night instead. Sort of our farewell party! lol

I've seen this asked before and have always enjoyed everyone's answers. now that our trip is getting closer, I thought I'd ask - so where do you eat your first night?

Since we joined DVC in 1995, we've always eaten our first meal at Olivia's - even tho' we no longer stay at OKW, it's tradition. The food's fine but it's that overwhelming sense of happiness and anticipation we get when we first sit down. The expectation and wonder that awaits us.

We enjoy our first night dinner at Il Mulino's located at the WDW Swan. We won't be doing this for the first time this coming June when we travel with our niece who even though she will be 18yrs old and a high school graduate at the time of the trip does not enjoy a good sit down meal so we will be eating at more casual sit down paces this trip.

We don't have a set place per se. But this time we're eating our first dinner at Chefs de France. It'll be my first time there because when we were supposed to have our special dinner there about 10 years ago over Christmas, I got sick and was in the hotel room trying to keep crackers and ginger ale down while the rents and sis ate a wonderful dinner.

We have a late flight in, arriving after 10:00 p.m. this April. But the next day, our first "real" day, we're kicking off our week with Cinderella's Royal Table!:tinker:

Even when flying in from Wisconsin, we usually have to fly out at 6:00 AM-ish, so by the time we get there, we want a good meal. We don't spend a lot of our time at Hollywood, so if we have time, we try to go Mama Melrose. We really enjoy the food, get in a few rides and crash fairly early.

We always eat at O'Hana's for dinner. Also on the last day we go to O'Hana's for breakfast.

Our 2001, 2003 and 2006 trips our first dinner was Kona Cafe

In 2008 it was 1900 Park Fare for Thanksgiving Dinner

and on May 12 our first dinner of this trip will be at Tutto Italia!

It used to be Chef Mickey's but we abandoned it a few years ago when it got really bad.

The last two family trips it has been Beaches & Cream. Last mom and son trip a year ago, we went to T-Rex.

Haven't decided where this time ... likely on the monorail or in MK.

Our first meal is Sci-Fi. I know lots of people don't care for it, but for my husband and I it has now become a tradition- this will be our 4th year of the tradition. We also always get the same thing. Corona to drink, spinach artichoke dip, and split the reuben. I get excited just thinking about it, and I already can't wait to enjoy it again in August:cool1:

We used to go to Tony's every first night but then we decided we would try California Grill and we did that the first night our past three trips and for our next trip we are going to Chef Mickey's :)

First nite is always Wolfgang Puck cafe
1st park meal is Akershus lunch

We always fly into Orlando in the morning, and according to my family, we have to go to the Magic Kingdom! So we don't have a regular place to eat, but it is always in there, this year will be Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch and Crystal Palace for dinner.:surfweb:

Chef Mickey/s
We don't particularly LOVE the food, but the atmosphere is great to get the vacation started.
