Where do you buy clothes for your 11/12 year old dd's?

My 12 year old still likes justice- the plaid skirts are what she is loving this year. And she likes Aeropastale. Oh and Boden.(mail order)

She is just now asking about makeup. Wanting to wear it. I'm holding out- I said for special occassions - NOT SCHOOL!

She has been asked out by a couple of different boys already and I am all for keeping her young as long as I can. (She didn't go out with any of them- I wouldn't let her and 2 she didn't like)

I'm surprise at the number of girls that still wear Justice. I know when my DD hit middle school, Justice was no longer cool and was to be avoided! It must be difference in your area.

I know my DD and her friends like Pac Sun, American Eagle, A&F,Hollister, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Zumma and Maurices. For uniforms we get Gap and Old Navy.

I agree. My dd is going into 5th grade, and Justice is no longer cool. We will buy a thing or 2 from there, but the biggie this year is Aeropostle. I don't know why, and I don't really care because the stuff is so cheap there...lol. Abercrobie is still popular, but we don't buy too much from them.

For back to school clothes this year I've bought from: Old Navy, Aero, A&F, Kohls. My dd is too young for Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, etc. She wouldn't fit into anything there!

See, that's my problem, dd is way beyond Justice but when her jean size is a size 10 (I just bought size 10 a couple of weeks ago, it's not like she is about to leave size 10) where else do I go? She will be 13 in September. Luckily she wears a uniform to school (catholic) and for the most part she is in a leotard and sweats cause she's at the gym 5 days a week, but when she dresses in regular clothes for her bottoms, she doesn't have much choice.

She is 4'6" and weigh 72#. The pickens are slim trying to get what she likes and what actually fits....

My DD is picky, too. She will only wear Aeropastle, Abercrombie, Hollister, and wants to try out Pacific Sun...she hates Justice (I love their clothes...). Ugh...tweens

DD11 is starting 6th grade and she's really jumped sizes over the summer. Nothing, and I mean nothing we bought in the spring still fits her! We bought a few things at H&M (size 2) and Old Navy (size 0) to start the school year. We tried American Eagle Outfitters, but the size 0 fell right off of her! It's hard to figure out what size she needs since they vary so much. H&M really had the best fit, so far.

She's starting a new school, private, no uniforms this year. Once we get a better idea of what the other kids are wearing, we'll buy more clothes. She needs a whole new wardrobe, anyway!!!! :rotfl2:

DD9 is still in girls sizes and did fine with Old Navy, Gap, and H&M. We really didn't like what Justice had in their Fall Collections this year.

So those of you who buy from Delia's, do you have an actual store or do you buy online or from the catalog? I get the Delia's and Alloy catalogs and have ordered from both, but for me not her. lol They both have the cutest tops, I got a really cute Tink top from Alloy for $5!!

My dd had a really hard time at school this last year. They were picking on her because they said she wears too much Disney so she started wearing the same stuff all the time. I am letting her pick out her own stuff this year. We have tried Old Navy and Kohls. Wal-mart also has some great deals without breaking the bank.

Justice is an absolute NO for my DDs 11 and 13. My 11 year old loves Hot Topic and Forever 21. My 13 year old loves Pac Sun and Hollister. They will also shop at Aeropostle, H&M, Abercrombie, Old Navy and Kohls.

WalMart is a no too. Target is hit or miss.

OP, I feel your pain!!
I have a DD11 and DD10. Clothes this year are pretty much Abercrombie, Hollister (shirts only), and Nordstrom. They used to love Justice, but none of us liked the fall line -- too sparkly/bright/babyish.

Abercrombie jeans and shorts (the longer styles!) are good for slim girls. A lot of their styles come in slims also. They are more $$, but if they fit my hard-to-fit child, I'll pay it.

My DD12 likes to be different. She likes the Justice clothes but they don't fit her. This year we shopped Sears, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and DOTS. She is in a 0,1, or 3 in pants. Medium juniors shirt to fit right but small for cami's to fit right. Small for shirts in DOTS. But, my DD is 5'4" tall and 34A/B chest. She has been asked for ID and people assume she is in her mid teens. She was 80's Pop Star Barbie last year for Halloween and most peope thought she was way older. She was just 11 in the following pics.

My dd JUST turned 13, 5'4", size 2 usually, 34 C chest, so I feel your pain - she couldn't wear childrens sizes for over a year now, because the waist was always too big. She recently auditioned for a role in a musicale, that called for an 11 year old of european decent - I let her, but only because I knew she would run into some people that she's been in plays with before, and it would be fun. The director even called me personally (who she's worked with before), to let me know she didn't get the role, and why (the fact that she looks 16+). She went from looking like a little girl to a young woman overnight, too!

Have you tried Gap or Old Navy? That is where I do a lot of shopping for my DD and have found some really cute and trendy stuff. We also go to Justice a lot and they are forever sending 40% off coupons which makes for some great deals.
