I guess I misunderstood your post then, because it sounded like you said you should only buy tickets from Disney.

Remember Park Saver & Disney does NOT show park tickets with tax, you'll see it during the final check out process.

UCTourist and Orlando Attractions does, meaning what you see is what you pay.

Park Saver did not add tax - went all the way to the payment screen

That is incorrect.

You can upgrade a military ticket to AP.
However, there is no price advantage to do so.

Only the cost of what was paid for the military ticket will be subtracted from the cost of the AP.

I've bought tickets directly from Disney before when I had to for a package, back before they changed the rules and also from Undercover Tourist.
