Anyone know? I need to know so we can tell step son his suprise tomorrow before he sees the billboards! We've beeen watching WDW youtube videos, disney movies, Ive even been feeding him mickey shaped food all week so I dont want him to figure it out before we give him the box with the balloon that says SUPRISE YOUR GOING TO WALT DISNEY WORLD! LOL

TIA!

Good question! I'm wondering this too.

I know there's a thread for people driving long distances. I bet someone there would have the answer. Now, if I could only find that thread...

ETA: It's on the transportation board!

Don't know where you are coming from but the way we go throught Georgia it is started before Valdosta. The ones that say Discount tickets to Disney World or Universal next exit. Those are the only WDW signs I remember seeing not anything that Disney puts out themselves. Don't know how old he is but if he can't read you'll probably be fine. See lots of Adult Activities Bill Boards, don't need to read to figure them out.

Yes, I agree with above poster. No actual Disney billboards in GA but billboards saying you can get discount tickets. Honestly, even in Orlando there are not many billboards. I guess they figure if you are there they do not need to tell you to go to Disney. There are a few but not many. You will also see some for SeaWorld and Universal.

I drive I 10 east to I 75 south, and we don't see them until we hit 75 south (around Lake City).

I know that they start along I-4 pretty early (I haven't gone through I-4 in a year, so I could be wrong) And I know Orlando has a ton, but besides that I'm not sure. :confused3

I've seen signs for discount Disney tickets along I-95 in North Carolina!!!

Thank you everyone! I knew I could count on my dis family!! My step son is 10 and reads very well! Do you think somewhere around Daytona Beach exits will be good?

When you start getting close why not blindfold him. That shoud add to the excitement. :goodvibes

We don't drive the way you go down, we take 75-turnpike, and beside the discount ticket sellers, You really dont start seeing them til you get closer to Orlando and I4. The only billboards I actually remember seeing farther out are the Ron Jon shop ones, I think there is one by Lake city that states 300 miles or so to go.

I would think Daytona area would be ok, but what will he think when he sees the welcome to Florida sign? I know if my 5 year old daughter saw we were in FL she would immediately know we were going to Disney.

Us too. As soon as we hit 75 S we start seeing them.

Funny thing, 3 years ago we decided to surprise the kids with a trip to Disney. We told them we were going camping; we WERE staying in a cabin at the campgrounds. There teachers were all in on it. We passed quite a few billboards and they never caught on; :sad2: I guess they just weren't paying that much attention. We went in the back entrance to the resort, so it wasn't until we were there that they started screaming in delight.

And don't forget all those stupid "we bare all" billboards :sad2: It's amazing that one little truck stop can afford to put up so many billboards.....at least they toned them down a bit.....they used to be alot more racy.

Tell him you're going to Florida, but tell him that you're going to visit a dear friend.

He'll wonder why he can't go to WDW - so pop it on him - at your choice of time - that it's your dear friend Mickey.

Hope it works! :goodvibes

We drive 95 south to I-4 when we go. Just got back from a trip in May.

I was actually surprised at the lack of billboards on I-4. When I lived in Central Florida in the 90's I-4 was mobbed with Universal, SeaWorld and Disney billboards, not to mention the.. ahem...adult themed ones for the plethora of strip clubs that inundated Orlando at that time.

This past trip I saw 1 Universal billboard(Harry Potter) and one for Disney Waterparks. that was it! Last time I drove to Orlando was in 2006 and I remember a lot more of them. :confused3

Seriously? I've been on I-4, 192, and the Turnpike recently, in the Orlando area, it seems that every billboard is either a Disney, Universal, Sea World or Busch Gardens one lol
