Another vote for the inflatable bed rails. That's what we did with DD who was 2 months shy of turning 3 on our last trip. Yes, the hotels often have them but we opted for the inflatables because then we know that we aren't at the mercy of availability. We also take them with us when we go to visit family for the weekend and other trips.
