We're thinking of taking a trip to Universal and Sea World 11/08. It's me, dh, ds6 and dd4. What are your suggestions for a hotel that's family friendly? Where can I start to get info. on planning?

When not staying on US property, I like Homewood Suites. The one on American Way (or Dr.?) is 5 min's from Universal's parking lot. I like it because it's clean, spacious, has a great free breakfast, and a nice evening reception with hot food, wine and beer during the week. The pool's ok, and my kids like it. We've stayed at the Residence Inn by Sea World, also good, but the Homewood saved us a little bit of $$. Have fun planning!

When I read the 11/08 I thought you meant today! I thought I found someone that plans like I do. Last Thursday I sat at work looking at the postcard for the HHN event, decided to go and was there that night.

I stayed on site at RPR and would recommend it to families. This discussion board is the best for planning a Universal vacation. Just ask the questions.

we've stayed onsite and off. absolutely recommend onsite if you can swing it. however, on 2 trips we have also stayed at the crowne plaza universal. it's a great hotel, in fact it is the #1 most popular on tripadvisor right now. what i have always done is book the crowne plaza on hotwire. we're going in 2wks and i got the hotel for 59/nt. it's easy to get to uo and seaworld from there. it's on univ. blvd. so it's not as busy as i-drive. we're staying onsite at the hard rock for our univ. time, then moving to crowne for our seaworld time. that time of year, we have foung that traffic is just nothing in the area(disney area is a different story!). ---but i would stay onsite always as my first choice

I'd second CPU at that price. Another possible SeaWorld hotel is the Peabody where the kids would like the duck parade. The Nickelodeon Studios hotel is usually fun for kids that age.

I agree with the nick hotel would be more fun for your kids

We just got back from a one night stay at Royal Pacific Hotel, and my kids (DS6 and DS3) loved it. They loved being able to take the boat to US and IOA. I can't wait for the next time we go stay and hopefully staying in one of the kids suites. They are Jurassic Park themed!!
