I've been everywhere else, but WDW is so much better! Like so many others on these boards WE go to WDW for our vacations...(some lucky enough to live close by..go many many many times throughout the year).

Anyhow.....I wonder where to WDW employees spend their vacations??????

Anyone know???? Any CM's out there?

Thanks :sunny:

I met a MGM cast member and his dad this weekend while waiting to ride the Hypersonic XLC coater at Paramont's Kings Dominion theme park in Virigina. He and his dad drove up for the week and were heading for Busch Gardens Williamsburg next.

I'll keep an eye out for him our next visit.

but I didn't work there long enough to go on vacation. However, many of my co-CM's would take the Disney Cruise for their vacations.

I have a lot of CM friends. Here are some of the vacations they've taken:

1. DCL cruises.
2. Staying with out of town friends/family at WDW and/or Vero Beach.
3. Traveling back "home" to spend time with friends/family
4. DL
5. Las Vegas
6. Puerto Rico
7. Camping
8. Stay home and work on household projects (a CM friend is on vacation this week and is relandscaping his entire yard!)

Basically they take the same types of vacations that anyone else does.

I'm an Imagineer in California and I take my family to WDW every year. It is our favorite place to vacation. We were in Paris and London in April and all we could think about, was going back to WDW. :rotfl2: Crazy Huh??

No, not crazy. It warms my heart to read things like this because I feel the same way (although I haven't been to Paris & London - unless you count Epcot!)

...there's a cast member recreation area near Lake Bryant, on the way to the Premium Outlets and the Queen of the Universe Shrine.

I've seen the sign when we drive by, and often wondered if you can catch a glimpse of Goofy playing volleyball... :earboy2:

This goes to show that you always want what you don't have. I live right at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, literally minutes from the park entrance. We go to the mountains for day trips a few times a year. But I can't wait to get back to WDW!!!

All the CMs I know go to Universal.................. :rolleyes1

The CM I know usually spends her extra $ and vacation time on trips back home to see family =)

On my first trip to WDW in 1993 I stayed at CBR. At the pool we asked one of the CM's where they go for vacation. Turns out her vacation spot was my hometown (the very place I was trying to get away from). She had family there that she would visit every year.

I understand this line of thought completely! I've been to both cities, but no matter where I go...I say "It aint Disney World."
I quess I am crazy too! (ok ...I know I am crazy)

Speaking from East Tennessee...we'd love to have ya!

Gatlinburg and the Smokie Mountains are great!! Okay, it isn't WDW, but it sure is pretty! :earboy2:

When I was a CM we went on vacation to Disneyland! :earsboy:

We also took trips around Florida to Busch Gardens, Daytona Beach, Weeki Wachee, Homosassa Springs, St Augustine.
