On the beach? Restaurant? Where?

I was proposed to at the dining room table at my parent's home. He didn't give me a ring.....just asked. :goodvibes

MY DH proposed to me in a horse and carriage ride through Philadelphia. It was a beautiful spring evening!

At DH's home on the couch while watching TV. He didn't have a ring, either, it was something that he felt compelled to do at that moment.

In the Oneida outlet store in Michigan City.

On April 6th, 2001 (Dh's bday), he proposed on the top of Mt Royale in Montreal in the snow. :cold:
I thought he was bending down to get the snow out of my boot and there he was with the ring!

I booked the trip to surprise him for his bday and he goes and turns the tables on me asking me to marry him!

At the Four Seasons Restaurant in NYC, January 20th, 1998.

At my dh's parents house in Brooklyn after his brothers wedding, which was November 6th and my birthday! My beautiful 1 carat heart shaped diamond was inside a box of carrots (he is a little strange!)

At the Bryn Athen Cathedral on the most gorgeous fall evening.

At my Mom's house, on Thanksgiving day, with my whole family present. He took the pillow off the couch and got down on his knee and asked me. :)

On the steps of the RI State House (we met while working on a political campaign, we have both worked at the state house, DH still does, so it was a significant spot for us).....he told me he wanted to get a picture of me on the steps so he positioned me, bend down to "take the picture" and instead of pulling the camera out of the camera case he pulled a ring box....it was a beautiful night :)

In a hot air balloon, at 7:45am on June 4, 2005!

It was so dreamy... :cloud9: :cloud9:

at the local drive in.......it was cows on one corner of the drive in and they were mooing........It was very romantic...... :goodvibes

OK, I had a really cool idea that had to be cancelled. I was going to post an ad in a London newspaper for when we would be there. I was going to have her friends "find" the ad while we were all at dinner. The trip got cancelled, so the idea did too..... then one moring I just woke up next to her and mumbled something about us getting married and she said yes, before I even realized what I had said. :teeth:

Let's see. I proposed to him in his parents living room and he turned me saying that it wasn't the right time. (He was right and I knew it) Then about 1 1/2 yrs later he proposed in my parents living room after everyone had gone to bed. It was January 4. He knelt down with the Christmas tree as a backdrop. I was a very sweet simple proposal and such a great memory.

In bed, in our front hallway, and in our front hallway again...

So much for romance, but I love him anyway! :teeth:

OMG pumba...you crack me up even when you are serious!! :love2: :teeth:

Tracey1974....that is SOOOOOOO romantic, what a beautiful spot :)

My DH proposed at a staff meeting. DH was one of 12 municipal department heads and I was interim HR director. The City Manager held a monthly staff staff meeting. We'd been talking about getting married and I had kiddingly told him that I expected the "down on your knees and offer a ring" routine. He's indicated if I seriously expected that, then he'd make sure I was just as embarassed as he was when it happened ;) The Manager starts the meeting saying "we're going to do something different today before giving monthly reports, we're going to have a fun management training type exercise, and I need a volunteer to come sit in the chair here in the center" (we sit around a horseshoe shaped set-up of tables and there was an empty chair in the middle of the inside of the horseshoe). So of COURSE no one volunteers, as we're all (except DH and the Manager) thinking "Oh Lord, can we just give our reports and get back to our offices, never mind the "fun" please?) So the Manager looks around and says "Well I'm sure our HR person won't mind starting off! Ann, please go around and sit in the empty chair". I swallow my sigh and stifle an eye-roll and walk around and sit in the chair. Then as I and everyone else is looking at the Manager to see what happens next, DH gets up from HIS chair, comes aound into the horseshoe in front of me, gets on his knees and pulls out the ring and proposes. So I was one of a dozen extremely surprised people....I had to be prompted to give him an answer I was so astonished :rotfl2: Then pastries were brought in and I don't remember much else about the meeting ;) I was too busy admiring the ring :teeth:

He proposed to me in January of 1992. I had booked a one day cruise from San Diego to Ensenada Mexico for his b-day. It's on a regular cruise ship but it's only for the day, you just cruise there, do some sight-seeing, and cruise back.

Well, unknown to me he had gone ring shopping with his brother and brought the ring with him. On the way back to San Diego after spending a wonderful day together in Mexico, he asked me to go for a walk up on deck.
When we were up there he got down on one knee and opened the ring box and asked me to marry him!! Of course I said yes.

The day was one I had planned for his b-day but I was the one who got the surprise!
Actually I think my mom got the biggest surprise of all when her 20 yr. old DD (me) came home with an engagement ring on her finger! :goodvibes

The skydeck of Sears Tower. I literally felt like I was at the top of the world!
