Well, we had a change in plans and did not keep our reservation for the TeaHouse in Stanley Park. We had scheduled ourselves to have dinner there after visiting the aquarium, but we finished the aquarium sooner than we thought. We ended up back at the hotel, and our concierge recommended trying Coast on Alberni St., as it was walking distance from the hotel. Some members of our group were really wanting a seafood restaurant, to sample the wonderful local fish in the area. Coast did not disappoint, and two members of our group said it was the best seafood they had in their lives! Sadly, I don't eat seafood, but I did ok ordering a steak. They offered my boys a kids menu, which was perfect. This restaurant was expensive, for sure --a splurge. But we thought it was fantastic in food and atmosphere.
I will say that having reservations has proven to be important here in Vancouver. The restaurants were crowded, even on a Monday night. So if you are planning a nicer meal, it's worth it to call ahead of time and get yourself a table. We always use the open table website, and did this time as well.
