Where did Bay Lake Tower go?

There were studios out there for Bay Lake Towers. Tried to book on Dec 23rd and the 23rd wasn't available but December 24th - December 30th was open. I was even up last night until 2:00 a.m. and it was there. Waiting for 8:00 am this morning! Then at 7:45 all the sudden they are gone and December 27th on is available.

How could that happen if the seven month window didn't open. Did a home resort person book it in the middle of the night did a waitlist fill????????

Ugg. I hope you can waitist and get what you want. Time and time again you read here that knowing before you can book what was available isn't very helpful and from what you're saying it's actually very stressful.

I imagine you are right, either a waitlist or an owner came on at 6AM and booked what you wanted. I often get up early to book something at Disney on line!

Thanks, I was booked at SSR from Christmas to New Years and cancelled when I saw the availability, not realizing that since Dec 23rd wasn't available I couldn't book. So I was hoping and praying for this morning...I was shocked when those three days were gone and it wasn't opened up to book yet. Well for the seven months out.

Buy where ya wanna stay....I purchased SSR it was the only one selling then, I said to my guide I wish Animal Kingdom had a Vacation Club and low and behold a few months later they announced it.......

Oh well maybe Bay Lake another time

Most likely there were very few and possibly only one still available and a BLT owner or owners decided to grab whatever was left before 8 this morning.

Yes, it was one strange night at dvcmember.com. I too was on it. I went to bed with sugar plums dancing checking late as well. You were not alone with that BLT Standard.

I'm smiling - it would have been quite the race!!! I'm positive we were not alone. Especially seeing a Standard BLT just sitting there for Christmas.

It had to have been an 11th hour BLT owner or the only other explanation is a computer glitch. Why? Because a waitlist being filled does not make sense at all (unless I'm missing something). The week has been suddenly there for quite a few days - I've been pressing for many days a week ahead so it was watched. So if a BLT owner had a waitlist say a week ago it could have been/should have been filled on those "it's there" days (remember BLT is wide open for owners - no waiting for the full week) - and there isn't even a need for the waitlist in the last few days since it was wide open and they have the window.

So as far as I can see - it was a BLT owner or owners (but I bet it was one availability b/c I had a friend check a few weeks back and only two days were there and I don't think any of those were standard) on the west coast or some kind of extreme night owl or early early bird - oh wait - could be across the pond and beyond - you and I are NA EST. So it could have been someone's morning/middle of the day - or even early evening. Okay, I'm rambling.

I grabbed the lake view that was sitting there for December 24-December 27.

Totally depends on the personality Bobbi. I weirdly found it fun - actually find the process exciting (the what might be) and I wanted that exact reservation badly. And am loving online and being able to see what *might* happen. The anticipation. I was on early and went "WHAT!!!! WHAT LITTLE BLT CRITTER (not really the word ) snagged that at the last moment?" And smiled at them.

And OP I have things that stress me/frustrate me (obviously) - everyone is different. Just sharing - I absolutely understood your frustration.

I guess this is an indication that my personality would love Las Vegas a little too much!!!

disneymomjcs - did you waitlist? It might make more sense to WL Lake view since there are so many more to snag. You never know. Good luck to you.

Yup I guess I am done since I enjoyed my weekend and did not even think about changing it must be meant to be! I was also preoccupied trying to figure out if we can visit my daughter who is studying abroad - yup we booked and leave next week - and no I have no idea how I pulled it together in less then 2 weeks! I think it is my previous profession i.e. travel agent coming through! i really hope I end up meeting you in December - remember NYE party BLT
