Well, after reading that sushi is not allowed as an appetizer at Teppanyaki I guess I'll be paying OOP there. We have ressies at Cali Grill- is sushi also excluded there? Does anyone know any other places the DDP can be used for sushi ( can you tell someone in our party loves it- my son). Also, this is a separate question, but is it two credits or one to have room service at the deluxe resorts with the DDP. We might want to use that option one night. Thanks!---kathy

CG used to include it but I read a review recently where it was not allowed. WPC does not allow it either.

Room service required (2) TS credits

WPC does allow sushi but it has to be your entree not appetiser. I'm sure California Grill still allows it all as an appetiser apart from the most expensive platter.

I had sushi as my entree at Wolfgang Puck's. It was not exactly what I would have ordered, but, it was very good.

Any further reports here? I'm particular interested in knowing if the sushi at California Grill is included (mainly the california rolls...)

I dont know either, but I can tell ya we had it last year at CA Grill on the free DDP, and it was one of the most amazing, delicious, savour every little crumb foods Ive ever had in my life!!! The sauce, the presentation, the taste, texture... EVERYTHING was just awesome. I have rarely experienced food I enjoyed THAT much!!! And I'm not a big sushi eater either. Ive only had it 4 or 5 other times before that. My only complaint was the entire meal took 3.5 hours. It was a bit much with my autistic son. BUT (for fairness) some of that time was watching wishes from the outside viewing area, so the meal wasnt quite 3.5 hours.

Thanks for the info- I guess we'll have to find out in person about any changes this year at Cali Grill but it's good to know it was included last year and that WPC allows it as an entree.---Kathy

Hi there...we just got back and loved the dining plan! Our favorite meal the whole trip was in the California Grill, and the highlight was the sushi! No problems ordering the sushi for appetizer. Definitely worth the two TS. Service and food was incredible!

I'd gladly trade a CS meal for JUST the sushi! But my meals are booked.

I do not know if Tempura Kiku is on the Dining Plan (it is at the Japanese Pavillion at Epcot), but they serve Sushi. I detest sushi so I did not :cool1: nor did my family partake of those tasty raw morsels, but I do love tempura and it was very good and the serving staff was excellent and very accomodating.

When at CG back in May, my daughter and I both had the California Rolls (different ones) and they were included as our appetizer. I doubt the "rules" have changed since then.

At Wolfgang Puck's my daughter ordered the California Roll appetizer as her entree and it was allowed.

I went to Tempura Kiku 2 weeks ago and it is indeed on the dining plan.
I had sashimi and tempura platter. It was excellent.
They also had quite a lot of different sushi available.
I don't know what platters or items were available for the plan though because I really wanted to get the sashimi.

By the way, this is a 1 table service restaurant.

We were there on Friday. When my duaghter indicated she wanted sushi as her main course, our server brought us the full sushi menu for her to order from. She had the Chef's platter and said it was the best sushi she ever had! :thumbsup2

Just returned Monday. Ended up going to a number of 2 credit restaurants due to boughts of the flu.
All sushi was allowed at CG (the snake in the grass was excellent). This was a change since February when the most expensive one was not included.
Sushi was not allowed for lunch at Teppanyaki. We paid OOP for a california roll and spicy tuna roll (excellent).
Interesting to hear Tempura Kiku is on the plan - we assumed it was not. We definitely would have gone there had we known this.

Oh, I had a very interesting appetizer at YSH for sushi lovers - tuna tartare. That was really good, too.
