Where can you buy Ice Wine??

Just wondering where you can purchase ice wine at Disney World, apart from at Le Cellier?

We went to Le Cellier last year, and thought the food was totally unremarkable and the service was even worse, so I don't really fancy going back there.

I'm in Australia - we don't have ice wine over here, and I really, really want some more after trying some in Quebec, Canada recently!!

So... does anywhere else in Disney World sell ice wine? By the bottle or glass - I don't mind! Darn the expense!! Heee!

California Grill usually has some wonderful dessert wines on their menu.

Goodings grocery store across the street from Disney village marketplace has a nice wine selection. You could grab a cab and stock up.

You could also find a local liquor store and stock up.

Actually, Eiswine is the original term, and is German in origin. The sugars get concentrated because the grapes are left on the vine until the first deep frost (thus the Ice Wine moniker). These wines only come from Germany, Austria and Canada. Its a difficult wine to produce with a low yeild. Anyway, long story short, try the Germany pavillion.

Artist Point serves an ice wine. Artist Point is a better dining choice than Le Cellier in our experience.

Have you been to Niagra-on-the-Lake? If you get the chance, there are 30 wineries there and it's a beautiful part of the country, the feel of France!
..it's 1/2 hour outside the Falls.
If you enjoy Ice Wine, you have to go, Ice Wine is the BEST*, it's very hard to find in most places.......let alone Orlando.... although the last couple years, people must be appreciating and letting people know.... ABC just happens to carry Inniskillin, our favorite!

That package/wine store mentioned above doesn't carry it, we have been there, they have a very limited selection=domestic.......

I just looked it up, (for our upcoming trip)...........

Anyway ABC Liquors in Orlando carries it.(3 locations)

I can confirm that Eiswein is available at the Weinkeller in Germany at EPCOT. I'm pretty sure you can get it by the glass and I know they sell bottles. Yummy!

Mari annie, I did the Niagara region last summer and it was so delightful we are going back this summer! For anyone that enjoys Ice Wine (or wine in general) it is well worth a visit.

My DH and I visited Niagra-on-the-Lake a few years back (before kids) tried Ice Wine . What a beautiful area, wasn't too impressed with Niagra Falls area but would go back to Niagra on the lake any time.

If you are going off-property, forget Goodings, go two blocks up to the ABC. They usually have at least four or five varieties in stock--some even reasonably priced! (relatively speaking of course)

I know I have had ice wine in the German pavillion as well, forget the price. It's also sold from the Canadian "booth" if you happen to be going during Food & Wine Festival.

We lived in Nashua for 10 years!!!!! Then we moved back to "our hometown"..lol

We have been going to N.O.T.L. for about 6 years now, we love it, that's where we spend our 4th of July!

We did the Falls, years back, like DTD, Hardrock, etc, I d rather go to NOTL anyday, gorgeous, hugh?!!!!!
Lots to do and the plants.........gorgeous right?!

First I need to get this off my chest....

mmmmmmmmmmmm......ice wine....


Second, though primarily(and originally) produced in Germany, Ice Wine is enjoyed in many wine making regions across the world. Canada being one of the better producers, and New York(in my biased opinion) is a close second, after all, when you rival German Rieslings, you know you're in for something good. Ice wine is produced in Australia, California, New Zealand, France, Italy, you name it...they pretty much make it. Now, don't get confused by a Late Harvest wine, though similar, they are very different. LH's are left on the vine to basiclly rot and dry out, thus concentrating the residual sugar within the grape itself.

Now for the question itself, I haven't been to the world in 5 years, and I was just 21 when I went then and more of a beer hound then, as opposed to the wine snob I've become. I'm hoping to get my hands on some nice food and wine pairings when I head back in August.

Oh and for the record, the best ice wine I've ever had was an Inniskillin(Qbc), Cabernet Franc Ice Wine. It was thick, but not syurpy, had flavors of black cherry, pomagranet(sp?), and just a hint of spice. And at a heft $250 for a 375ml(think pint size) bottle, it will probably be the only time I ever get to taste it.

Ok, now that I'm salivating...back to work.
