Where can we get a good grilled cheese in the parks?

My dd LOVES grilled cheese sandwiches! She loved the ones at ASMu. Does anyone know where we can get grilled cheese in each of the parks? We were planning on going to Beaches & Cream because I saw they had it on the menu. I've tried looking at all the menus, but I got overwhelmed. I knew I could ask here, and the experts (y'all ) could help me out.

I have never had a problem getting a grilled cheese sandwich at any sit down restaurant, even if it isn't on the menu. Just ask the server. My DD likes the ones they make at the sci fi.

As for CS...I can't think of any that make grilled cheese.

What about Pop? It isn't on the menu, but it is a value like ASMU. Just wondering if they would make one even if it wasn't on the menu. It's butter, bread and cheese after all.

My DD is a vegetarian and after a few days of the same mac-n-cheese and spaghetti and cheese pizza she wants something else.

I had a problem at Prime Time Diner asking for a grilled cheese. I figured that they had bread and they had cheese so they could make my DD one. No can do. They would only serve her what was on their menu. Of course, she only picked at it . Luckily we were on the DDP, but I had to feed her something else later on. We now carry a PB&J with us just in case she won't eat the vegetarian option or there isn't one for kids.

Thanks for a great question-- I'll be interested to see who else may have done this.

This makes me think, I should post a thread when we return for all those families with eaters like my DD-- so they know where simpler/different items can be found/requested.

I actually brought a PB&J (made back at the resort) into a TS restaurant more than once. I buy her a drink and dessert and don't worry about it. If they don't have anything for my DD to eat, then what I am supposed to do? I let the server know and make sure I tip well. She also sometimes eats PB&Js when we eat at counter service restaurants. For instance, we LOVE Flame Tree BBQ, but there is no vegetarian meal option there for kids on the DDP.

My DS is a grilled cheese fanatic. Sadly, grilled cheese sandwiches have been taken off a lot of the menus. However, I'm sure if they have the ingredients, most TS restaurants would be happy to make you one.

In Aug, DS had grilled cheese at the Plaza, Brown Derby, and WCC. WCC didn't have it on the menu, but they were happy to make him one anyway. I don't remember seeing grilled cheese as an option at any CS locations, just TS.

The Plaza in the MK has great grilled cheese sandwiches, for children AND adults. And for another plug, try their reubens.

And can you get one anywhere on property that is made with REAL, not plastic/processed cheese? I like my grilled cheese sandwiches all gooey and stringy, and with some taste, I'm not fussy about the plastic wrapped/processed cheese. I read somewhere that Captain Cooks I think has a 3 cheese grilled cheese, but it includes blue cheese, which I will only eat in salad dressing, so that's out, lol.

I'm anxious to know if the "real cheese" variety is available anywhere.

Thanks everybody for your responses! I feel better about things now. I figure between grilled cheese and cheese pizzas, she should be fine. I actually ate the children's grilled cheese meal at ASMu last October, and it was enough for me too. We are not doing the dining plan because I figure it would be a waste of money for us. I will probably order off the kids menu, or we will share an adult combo, and get her an extra drink.

Please keep the suggestions coming! I knew y'all would know where we could go!

I had the above sandwich at the Earl Of Sandwich in DTD and thought it was very good. You could ask them to leave the bacon off.

Just wonderin'? Is it a regular (meaning processed cheese) grilled cheese sandwich, or is it made with cheddar or some other cheese? DD wants "just plain" grilled cheese.

Another TS vegetarian option -- we've been able to get pasta with tomato sauce, with or without vegetables, any place we've asked. I can't remember every place, but we always ask for it at Cape May, Chef Mickey, 50s Prime Time, Spoodles, and probably some others.

I have to say that we had so-so luck getting grilled cheese sandwiches -- I don't recall the restaurants that weren't able to accommodate us (my son has Asperger's and some pretty serious food texture aversions), but I do remember Prime Time Cafe being one.

This place saved us a number of times -- my son had many a grilled cheese here when we stayed at Beach Club last year and he loved them. He's very particular about grilled cheese and won't even eat one if the cheese tastes "fake" as he says.
