Where can my mom find a new washing machine for real cheap?

My mother is in the market for a new washing machine but she has never been able to find one that is cheaper in price and the reason why my mom is looking for a new washing machine is because our old Whirlpool has gave up the ghost. What stores have good deals on washing machines?

If she has time to look and watch for sales, she can do that. Otherwise, if she's like me and waited until the old one died, she probably wants it sooner rather than later. Go to a local appliance store. They may be running Memorial Day sales. Floor models may be cheaper but be aware it could be dinged from sitting out. Ask if they have any discontinued models which will be less expensive. But MEASURE where it needs to fit, especially if there isn't much extra room; I had few choices due to size limitations.

Have you looked at purchasing one from Facebook Marketplace? Or perhaps Craigslist? Also, our local appliance store has a “used” section, which are refurbs, perhaps see if a local place has a section like this.

There was just one listed in our local area yesterday for $175.

Over the years I have found some great deals at Lowes for floor models or ever so slightly damaged appliances. One time we got a brand new extremely popular stove for like 70% off because the bottom broiler drawer had a little dent. But it’s hit or miss. We just happen to go to Lowes often and kept our eye out over time. Got a great dishwasher, dryer and grill that way as well.

Define "cheap". Last washer we bought was 12 years ago and it was $900. I see lots of washing machines at Best Buy and Home Depot in the $500-$550 range which by today's standards is cheap.
I know my mom had three washers and three dryers from 1950 to 2013. She go to place was Sears, the entry level Kenmore model, last one was under $200. She never fixed them just buy a new one every 20 years.

I wouldn't buy one without standing next to it and making sure I can reach in all the way down to the bottom, so that I would be able to get the laundry out of it. It seems like the manufacturers assume everybody is tall and has long arms. Maybe OP's Mom is tall and/or has long arms so this isn't an issue for her.

does she have any 'dings and dents' appliance places nearby? our big local appliance chain puts all their floor models/out of stock/cosmetic blemished stuff at their 'ding and dent store'. identical warranties as buying new at their other places/any other place that sells the brands. had a friend who owned several rental homes who swore by these types of places-always bought her from sear's ding and dent center (when sears was still around).

i went into store and got excellent service
They still were selling the model that I have had for 10 years and it was cheap!
To find their low prices online, you have to kinda scan onto the price that has a line on it. I thought that meant it was N/A as Sold out but it will display a cheap price . So happy cause Iknew it would fit into the size frame that I would need .
And figured if it has survived me for 10 years …it deserves more of my loyalty so decision made and it is installed and I am doing laundry now!
It was their Amana Model .I think all washing machines are similar and built by the same company.
Someday I will have a fancy washer in my dream home !
