Does any of you guys have done the altered cans? Where can I get mine? Thanks

Do you mean the paint cans? I got mine at Lowes, but Home Depot or probably any hardware store should have them as well. About $2 each.

Hi, I would also like to do some but do you have to use two peices of paper?and how does that look? I have a smaller can I could do(What our old cell phone came in) and thats bigger then a 12 by 12 paper.

Oh OK! I wasn't sure if it was OK to use those :confused3 I saw some at the my local SS but they were expensive. :confused3
Thanks

My LSS has them for $2.49, Lowes $2.39 and Home Depot $1.88. Guess where I got my 14?
As for the paper not fitting around, yes, it will take more than one 12x12 to fit around. Mickster told us how she is going to be using cardstock to cover that gap as a "label" or focal point for the can. I will be using her idea.

I've seen people decorating the cans and talking about them. What does everyone use for them? Do you store items in them? WDW trinkets? Pictures!

The ones I will be swapping for will be used as "gift boxes" to put in Christmas gift cards and teacher gifts. And the ones I like very best will be kept on my kitchen counter to hold my tea bags.

I'm not doing this swap but I'd love to see pictures of your altered cans. Pretty Please?

I haven't started mine yet, but when I do have them done, I will be very happy to share the results with you. If you go to the Altered Can Swap sign up thread on the SWAP board, there is a link with some examples of what others have done to give you an idea.

Hi!
I'm the person hosting the Disney Altered Paint Can swap on the other thread. You can get the cans at major home improvement stores like Home Depot or Lowe's. At Home Depot, the quart size ones are $1.88 and the gallon cans are $3.88. There is a post on the swap site for a place to get them online as well.
Good luck,
Sharon

I make the larger cans all the time and routinely have to make "seams". I generally use two equal sized sheets of paper and then have the seams down the "sides" of the can. The cardstcok fill-in label is a good idea, too! I just picked out all my papers for these cans and cleaned out Home Depot with my 31-can purchase.
