We had a complete-loss home fire last month, and amongst everything else, my son lost his entire pin collection. Now that things are starting to get back to normal, I'd like to surprise him with at least a 'starter' kit of pins before our upcoming trip in late-April. I don't think he has realized he lost his entire collection, so I'd like to at least have a few for him before the trip.

He LOVED trading pins when we go to Disney, so I want him to have something to start with before we do down (he always wore his pin necklace on the plane).

Any help is appreciated.

I would be happy to send him a few trading pins that we have left over from our last trip. I can't guarantee what characters they are but if he just wants to trade anyway-they should still be good.

Just message me and I will send them right out.:goodvibes

ebay is a great source too- you can often find a bulk sale of them available too for a great price- just a mix and match of different ones. Sorry to hear of your loss!

I am sorry, that is awful. Are you looking for specific pins or just any to trade? I bought a lot for my kids on eBay for trading and we could spare a couple to send to your son. Also, maybe buying a lot would be a good way. I understand some are scrappers but there is a list of good sellers on the Collectors board.

Thank you SO MUCH!!!! And thanks to all others that replied---I was worried I'd have to wait until we got down there to buy them.

Hi - if you're going to buy off ebay, please check out the pin threads in the collectors board before purchase. That being said...

the ebay seller "thewill" sells authentic pins still on their backings for very good prices, usually 3 dollars and under per pin.

he is one of the only sellers I have found that doesn't sell scrappers.

Good luck. So sorry to hear about your home and your sons pins. I'm sure he'll be delighted with his surprise!

I'm sorry to hear about the fire and your loss! That's dreadful

Please PM me your address.....I have some that were going on E-Bay and I will gladly send you some.

Very sorry to hear abou the fire. That is horrible!!!!

This is where I tend to get my pins for DS to trade:

Haven't had any problems trading them. They are currently running a $1.65/pin special if you click on the "pin special" link and get that 25 pin grab bag. Not a huge savings, but a few bucks here and there helps. I've also gotten them on the disney online store and the online outlet store. I wait for them to get below $5 a piece there and buy a few of each so DS can keep one full set and not have to worry about trading the rest away.

Good luck.

Just wanted to let everyone on this board know that there are some GREAT people on here......I've received quite a few emails offering to send pins to my son, free of charge!!! I never anticipated that, and only posted to see where I could buy some---I never expected anything like this!!!

Thanks again, you have made my son a happy kid for our upcoming trip!!

Like I said....get me your address and some will be on their way to you.

Linda

First, let me say how sorry I am for the fire. Second, I would try eBay. I usually go an order a whole bunch from someone that is usually 25 cents or so a pin for my kids to trade when we go down.

Also, please PM me....I might have some pins at home we can part with.

Best wishes!

Please PM me with your address as well so my kids can send some out. It's such a win-win situation - your son will be blessed with pins, and my children will learn how to care for other people, maybe ones they don't even know. We just finished making blankets for Project Linus and they're so excited to be helping people, I want to keep that ball rolling! So sorry for your loss, and hope to hear from you soon. God bless.

Kathy

So sorry to hear about your recent loss. Very nice of you guys to offer pins up, if I had some I would do the same.

I will also suggest Ebay to those others reading. You can usually get a lot of say 30 pins for 30 bux which to me is quite the bargain. I did this for our last trip 3 years ago and will do it again for our upcoming trip this summer. My only word of caution is to make sure you use someone who seems to be reputable. By that I mean they sell these pins a lot, promise that they are ALL trade friendly for WDW and Disney Land and they have good feedback.

I bought pins from that website also. They were nice pins and came very quickly. I think I had my pins within three days. Although we traded most of the pins they included a Princess Tiana pin that my DD was very excited to keep.

What are "scrappers"? We have been buying pins from the same seller the last couple of times. I typically don't buy the expensive ones since we like the swapping part.

OP, we are looking through our pins now. Can you PM me with your address? Pin trading has become a part of Disney trips for us so we want to share the magic :flower3:

It is a great way to teach kids how to talk to adults while asking for something in particular. I have one child who is pretty shy and pin trading gets her out of her shell

I'm sorry about the fire :sad1: I can't imagine the stress and loss :grouphug:

I am so sorry!

If there is a special pin that he really likes, I would be more than happy to pick it up for him on our next trip March 19-21 and send it to you (my treat - I think about how hard that would be to go through for your family and I just want to cry). Please, please feel free to PM me with a special pin request and a current mailing address to send it to and it will be on its way to him on the 22nd!

Special thoughts are being sent to you and your family! :grouphug:
