After recent foot surgery, I still limp a bit and really whine a lot about the minor pain. Where should we request a studio? Don't need a handicapped room, just something either close to parking or close to activities, or both.

Can't wait for our first VB stay!!

The resort isn't very big and there is parking underneath every building with elevators to the rooms. You shouldn't have much of a problem wherever you are. You might want to request the building closest to the pool to save a few steps.

The parking at VB is underneath the villa buildings and there are elevators. I don't think you need to worry about parking. I think you should just request a room that is near to the pool. Building 14 is probably best as it is closest to the pool and main building (check in, restaurants and gift shop). You might also consider one of the Inn rooms instead of a studio.

VB is a great resort. Have a wonderful trip!

There's parking under the main Inn as well, and it may be closest to the pools.

It would also have the best ocean view, be closest to the restaraunts, gift shop, and the Green Cabin room where a few libations and some live music might help with the pain....

Might help even without pain....

You can also buy libation ingredients at the gift shop/store at a price that's not extremely out of line, they have some basics like Jim Beam, etc.. ....(forget the name, orange groves, or something like that maybe....)

I think I'm confused about Vero!! I thought there were units on the ground floor? Maybe I'd better take a look at some pictures or something!! I'm in a wheelchair, but we're thinking about doing Vero... I'll just pass on the beach LOL.... I also don't like getting the handicapped rooms, just need something physically accessible to a wheelchair....

The units are on the "ground".....you walk directly out on the first level. The parking is "underground" requiring an elevator ride up to "ground" level. Same with the Inn -- you can walk in and out the front and back but the parking is underneath.

I was just thinking....I guess the Beach Houses must have to park in one of the garages and then walk "home". They are too close to the beach for underground parking. Anyone want to share their parking experience?

Chris -- I remember when Vero was new they talked about having wheelchairs that can go out on the beach. If you're interested you could ask whether they are still available. They do have a handicap ramp that leads to the beach. Sometimes there is a problem though, a bad storm can wipe away the sand leaving a "drop" down to the beach....that would be impossible to use until it is repaired again.

Vero does have a wheelchair for the beach. Just ask at the ramp to the beach ( where you rent your chairs and umbrellas). The whole resort is accesible with ramps all over! If your room isn't on the ground floor there are elevators.

Wow! Thanks for the info, those wheelchairs cost a FORTUNE, I would never have thought they'd be available at the resort!!! I'll definitely use one while we are there (dates to be determined)!
