where art thou characters? lol!!

Bernard and Bianca used to be at WDW at the MK. They left in the early 90's.
I know there were rumors of Marie coming to WDW. A certain manager was trying to get her at WDW. That manager is no longer a character manager so I don't know if she is still in consideration for WDW. Joanna may know who I'm talking about. WDW use to put characters out when Disney movies were released to home video/dvd...that's how I met Thumper at AK. The Gummi Bears just came out on DVD and I wish they would bring them back, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. Some of the characters that are popular and sell loads of merch are not even in the parks at all or very often..for ex: Thumper, Marie, Grumpy and Tink. As Pixie Duster said there are reasons why certain characters are not out; I just wish they would bring them out for special events in the parks.

I would suggest that if you want to see characters email disney or go to guest relations when you are at the park and ask for them to call and see if they are out. Even though they might not be out it still puts a bug in their ear. There was a certain character that got many requests and he was brought back out and he still does sets. So if you want to see a character ask at guest relations. It may be awhile till you see them or you may never see them, but it can't hurt.

Those are great.

I am very disturbed by the Tinkerbell character however. She should be a character you can hear and never see - like it is in WDW. She is tiny, not life-sized.

Then don't go to Disneyland. She leads off the Parade of Dreams there.

ETA: Does anyone see my picture of her here? It should be above this, but I don't see it. :confused3

I was just wondering...

I suppose one reason for the lack of variety in terms of characters appearing in the parks lately could be because the characters don't have as many "friends" as they did in the previous years, if you know what I mean.

We went blue in the face searching for Rabbit from WTP last trip. Asked numerous CM, had them call the character hotline, but we've never seen him. I realize that he's not extremely rare, but would appreciate suggestions... Also, has anyone seen other characters from WTP other than Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore?

:offtopic: how cool, yesterday i was watching o brother where art thou! i was wondering is that where u got the title post from?

Awesome find. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie, so I'd love to meet Gaston

Rabbit seems to be an extremly random character. I've seen him at 1900 Park Fare's breakfast but no where else. I've also seen Piglet a number of years back at UK at EPCOT. I think he's most commonly found at Crystal Palace.

courtney

Yes it was in toontown across from the barnstormer right by Mickey's house.

I have seen characters at disneyland paris that i've never seen at wdw.

Tinkerbell always leads the studios parade.
Country bears are out all the time,as are Jiminy cricket, Pinnochio,Robin Hood,Friar Tuck and Sheriff of Nottingham.

I've always wanted to see Dumbo and Thumper.I think someone posted photos of them once.

I personally am not sure of the reasons that certain characters aren't out but I also personally feel that the characters make the magic, and going year after year and seeing the same ones, it just gets old, I wish they would just randomly put some rare characters out each day, that would make it so much better. :thumbsup2

Those characters do make appearances at WDW as well.

We saw Rabbit a few times when we went in October, mostly in Epcot. There was usually no line, I felt bad for Rabbit. But Rabbit can be found.

We saw Rabbit two weeks ago at the American Adventure at Epcot. We checked that location various times during our 10 day trip, and only saw him there once! His appearances can be so random, with no pattern at all to pick up on. On prior trips, we saw him in the Toy Store in England at Epcot. Just takes so much luck to find him!

She is NOT supposed to be the same size as Peter Pan. :confused3 If my child saw that, even at 9, she would be mortified. That is as disturbing as the picture that was posted earlier this year of the eye inside Mickey's eye.

The first week of October, we saw Rabbit in front of the USA pavillion in Epcot, and at MGM, in front of the building where Sorcerer Mickey is.

We spent some time on Mickey Avenue at MGM and met Rabbit.

Every 30 minutes, 5 different characters would come out for greetings.

In June, we went to the Animation Building at MGM to do the character drawing class. In the area down below the door (where the colors and the what character are you? displays are), there were 5 or 6 characters. Rabbit was one of the characters! I am a HUGE WTP fan, so I was so excited!! They rotated the groups of characters every 10-15 minutes, and there were no lines, so we stayed down there until we got them all. We also saw Rabbit, Eeyore, and Pooh together at Epcot in the toy store in England.

Great photos, what time of day was this, and also what day if you remember and what part of Mickey Ave? Sorry so many questions, just love Disney and the characters. :)
