Where are you staying on your next Disneyland Trip and Why?

I'm not sure if you saw it, but they are having an end of summer sale on rooms right now as high as 25% off at both hotels.[/QUOTE]

I saw that, though we're going end of Nov/beginning Dec. So I'm waiting for that time period to go on sale. It was announced the last couple years in September. Fingers crossed they stick with that schedule.

We are at the Candy Cane Inn now. Happy with our choice. We've stayed at all the onsite hotels plus a few others but this is our first time at CCI. Things I like: large room (premium), vanity separate from bathroom and shower, coffee (with lids) and water available in the lobby, awesome water pressure (this makes for quick showers when it's late at night and your 2 girls with long hair are very very tired, the heater in the bathroom is awesome!, free breakfast, free parking, and a very cute, quaint atmosphere.

Based a lot on this thread...I have changed our upcoming trip from Homewood Suites Convention Center to Park Vue. The reasons:
1) Free Parking (saving us $130 over Homewood)
2) still has free breakfast
3) still has 3 separate sleeping areas - my teenagers are opposite genders so I don't like making them sleep together anymore and I don't like sleeping with my daughter - she is a kicker. The bunkbeds will be perfect for them.
4) the location - SO MUCH CLOSER and with the time difference I know we're going to be tired out the first couple of days there - we can way more easily head back to the room for a quick rest.
5) I saved about $20 a night on the costs vs. the Homewood.

Wow, that's really high. We just made reservations for PVI and it was $137 before we told them we were return customers. Then they knocked an additional $13 a night off.

I was impressed when I booked PVI again recently, I got an email confirmation immediately and a couple of hours later I got a new confirmation with the reduced price. I never had to tell them I was a returning customer or ask for the discount, they just did it. Very good service!

We are staying at the Hojo on our next trip.
  • AP rate
  • very nice water play/pool area
  • free parking
  • clean rooms
  • close enough to walk to the parks
  • super friendly and accomodating staff

I *think* this was discussed a couple months ago here...someone had mentioned that their friends had stayed at Anabella over Star Wars, and the hot water was gone after the Half.

I got an answer! (weirdly, while the employee was discounting our stay a little bit because we had ONLY hot water for 5 hours on Friday while we were trying to take a break and take cool showers!)

Apparently the city was working on the water mains ahead of SW weekend, and promised that they would be DONE before the weekend. They were working right up to it, said they were done, and closed it all up. And then they were NOT done. The employee said that the other hotels in the area were affected as well.

And then the city came right back to continue working after the weekend was done, which meant that they had NOT been done at all.

I had three odd issues at Anabella, which, given that we have stayed there something like 5 times and have never had other weird issues, shouldn't be a deal-breaker, but in the heat it just felt So Far Away. One of our issues was that the fridge didn't work (and it took half a day after the guy "fixed" it to realize it wasn't fixed at all) so we had to keep going to CVS to get cold water. Well, CVS is the opposite way from the shorter way to the parks. So that meant we took the longer way almost every time (and we actually took breaks on Thursday and Friday so we did the walk several times), which was exhausting in that crazy heat.

Candy Cane was looking really good to me, let me tell you! And the idea of Tropicana was sounding great as well. :)

Plus, I need to start weaning off of Anabella since it really looks like it'll be going away in 2 years. Sigh.

We just finished a stay at the Park Vue Inn and couldn't have been happier with the choice! We never used the pool, so I can't comment on that, but the room was large and clean. Breakfast was great. The walk on and out couldn't be beat! I would definitely stay there again.

DH decided we needed a quick short notice trip that has morphed to a 4 day! We are going to be there Aug. 25th to Aug.28.
I am not sure where we are staying either the Anaheim Hilton at the convention center or the Homewood suites by Hilton. (Due to points)
A quick question. How hard is it to get into the Toy Story lot for a ride and do they just drive around the lot and pick people up or is there a spot go to catch a ride?

its easy to walk in to the Toy Story lot. Its a straight shot down the sidewalk from the convention area. The buses pick up and drop off at the same central spot. there is always one or two there loading people

on our next 4 night trip in august, we're doing a split stay. 2 nights at the Grand Legacy (stayed here 2 or 3 times before the name change; the AP early check in is a big plus since we usually end up in town around 1-2 and having to wait to 3 or 4 to check in is always a pain) and 2 nights at the DLH.

We're staying at the Best Western Park Place Inn for our trip at the beginning of March. Hoping for super light crowds. We stayed there for my son's fifth b-day trip last November and thought it was a great place for the price. The rooms are a decent size, clean, beds were good and can't beat the location. Our kids will be 4 (we're calling this a birthday trip for our daughter's 4th birthday, just a couple weeks early) and 6. We loved the location for being able to leave things in the room and make a quick run back for anything we might need. The free "breakfast" is nothing to write home about, but it was food that lasted us until lunch time.

We are staying at Desert Palm Hotel. It is a little cheaper then right across from the entrance and it has room for 6 people with actual beds. It also has a free breakfast.

We are staying at Grand Californian Villas since we are able to use our DVC points. Best decision we ever made was to buy into DVC. We could never afford to stay at the more deluxe properties at WDW or DL (or even Aulani) without it. Looking forward to taking our Granddaughter for the 1st time ever to DL... very soon :)

We are looking at going October 5-11 and are booked at the BWPPI (where we usually stay), but that's pricier than I would like ($170.10 + tax); AAA rate.

We also looked at PVI, but that's even higher ($194+ tax average). I want to be across the street and I like the breakfast. :scared: I'm hoping it goes down.

BWPPI for the beginning of next summer (5/29 - 6/3) for the following reasons:
  1. it's a closer walk than the GCH!
  2. I can't afford the GCH. :-(
  3. We stayed at BW Stovall's last time (Oct 2015). Loved the motel & would stay there again, but the resounding vote from my family was that it was too far of a walk. DH & both kids begged to stay closer next time.
  4. I got a super duper deal (~$137-139/night before taxes & parking). Yeah, we'll have to pay to park, but it's still cheaper than paying to park on site.
  5. They have free hot breakfast.
  6. It's super close.
  7. Did I mention how close it is to the Esplanade?
  8. My kids aren't picky about pools. They just need a concrete pit in the ground with clean water, so they'll have a great time in it.
  9. Pizza Press is next door. DH will be happy. He doesn't know about that place yet.
  10. I seriously thought about Hojo's since I found a rate for $141/night before taxes AND they include free parking. But the free breakfast was a huge draw at BWPPI. Plus, Hojo's is much farther of a walk. And we'll be checking in late afternoon on Memorial Day after what I suspect will be a really busy weekend of family stuff we'll be doing elsewhere before we drive to Anaheim.
  11. It's about $2000 less in lodging than staying at the DLH. We would love to stay at the DLH or PPH or GCH, but it's not in the budget. By staying at BWPPI, we get to be super close & save our legs.
  12. AND....it leaves money in the budget for us to GO TO CLUB 33, BABY!

Camelot Inn because
1) location
2) price (staying more then 5 days so I got a price reduction)
3) mini-King suite which has a double sofa sleeper. I like having the seating option
4) wifi, fridge, to a lesser extent the microwave
5) nearby dining and mini-market

The Grand Californian Hotel on DVC points (nothing available in the villas) for the night of Nov. 2nd 2016 !! This is MY actual Birthday and I just found out they are holding a special event For DVC members only on the California Adventure side from 8:30pm - 11:30pm !! YEAH!!! :thanks: So excited!!! :teeth:

Club 33!! How lucky!! Somehow, someday I'll get in there...

DLH deluxe view room.......requested the Adventure Tower. This will be our 3rd stay at DLH, we like the facility, the pools, walking through DTD in the morning, and just overall have had a great time there.
Expensive yes......other than that we love it.
